De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) verplaatste de afgelopen weken in het geheim ruim 200 ton goud (€10.4 miljard) van Haarlem naar het nieuwe Cashcentrum in Zeist. De raadsman deed hierover op RTL Nieuws een zeer opvallende uitspraak. “Goud is hét ultieme vertrouwensanker dus als het hele financiële stelsel instort, dan heb je altijd nog het goud, want goud blijft z’n waarde houden en in een financiële crisis weet je nooit of andere dingen, zoals de dollar bijvoorbeeld, zijn waarde blijft behouden.” Interessant weetje: Het gaat om 14.166 goudbaren (elk ongeveer 12,5 kg) en duizenden kisten met gouden munten. Dit is slechts 31% van de totale goudvoorraad van DNB. De rest zou opgeslagen liggen in New York, Londen en Ottawa, het precieze bewijs hiervan ontbreekt echter.
