𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐒 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐈𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐘 John Stossel just aired a segment with Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute that should be required viewing in every university — which is exactly why it never will be. MacDonald’s thesis is simple: “𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘨𝘺𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘯𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘦.” Men and women are different. Not better or worse — different. And the refusal to acknowledge it is destroying institutions. “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬-𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦.” That’s not sexism — it’s observable reality. MacDonald says this is why men run most companies: “𝘕𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺’𝘴 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴.” Stossel confirmed it from personal experience: “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵.” He tried gender-neutral parenting. It didn’t change much. The cultural consequences are real. Universities — 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐧 — are now taking down portraits of their greatest scientists because they might make female students feel “𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦.” When you ask people whether they value academic freedom or emotional safety, MacDonald says, “𝘈 𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘫𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺.” MacDonald’s most provocative point: women are 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭-𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 and “𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴.” She can’t explain why — “𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦.” None of this means women are inferior. Mary Anderson invented windshield wipers. Marie Curie won 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬. MacDonald celebrates accomplished women — she just refuses to tear down male-dominated institutions with false claims of victimhood. 𝐌𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧. 𝐈𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.

@canonpress If you don’t make a Mr. Rogers version of a show with Doug Wilson you missed a huge opportunity. Our generation can have Mr. Wilson instead of Mr. Rogers I would pay top dollar for that show. 😂

You need to understand how deeply these people hate Americans Announcing that you don’t have enough money to rescue devastated Americans in NC after blowing the budget on illegal immigrants is already damning, but maybe that could be chalked up to extreme incompetence The fact that every government spokesperson including the presidential candidate continued their messaging about sending money to foreign countries is a deliberate decision They want you to know that they have the money, that they are sending it abroad They want you to know that they hate you and want you dead They want you to know

The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation. I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there. To that end, the United States will provide nearly $157 million in additional assistance to the people of Lebanon for essential needs such as food, shelter, water, protection, and sanitation to help those who have been displaced by the recent conflict. This additional support brings total U.S. assistance to Lebanon over the last year to over $385 million.

@hannahgrieser I know a family that stopped at 5 because that’s how many for in their minivan. The Lord limited our family size for us, but car size would’ve been an issue because we live in a very old house with no garage, a narrow driveway, and very limited street parking.

Can’t help but think about how the ugliest impulses of the manosphere are formed by porn addiction. They come to discussions about relationships between men and women already habituated to seeing women as dehumanized objects. So of course they have trouble understanding why a husband would want a wife he can share non-sexual thoughts and feelings with.

Dear single Christian women, I cannot warn you strongly enough to be aware that any man who believes a wife should be unintelligent or uninterested in discussing a wide variety of topics with her husband is very likely a man of low character at best or a controlling and abusive pervert at worst. Run.

@thisisfoster I can dig this if it happens in a genuine way without deception. Good- let me see how he reacts to losing to gauge his pride and self control Bad- let me ask him a ridiculous hypothetical about dating my friend and see if he responds in the precise way i deem appropriate.

Women perform "checks" on their potential suitors or husbands. Some guys perceive these as "tests." And, in a sense, they are tests, but often they’re neither conscious nor malicious. They are "testing" you in the same way you might check a chair’s stability before sitting on it. It’s natural for women to test men, seeing how they must submit themselves to one’s leadership in marriage. They want to know that they can count on a man to provide the needed support for her and their future children. Is he strong? Is he resolved? Is he decisive? Is he gentle? Her future well-being as a wife and mother is directly tied to the character of his leadership. So they "check" or "test" him. Many of these tests happen at a subconscious level. They are an instinctual way to answer important questions related to their God-given roles. For example: "If I tease you or challenge you, will you react in a defensive or insecure way?" "If I test your resolve, will you immediately fold or get angry?" They may not always do it in a way that feels respectful, but there is a real purpose behind these checks. In marrying a man, a woman is resigning herself to a "passenger" seat in a car you’ll drive. That’s a vulnerable place. So don’t get easily offended or shocked by "checks." She just wants to know that you are a strong and competent leader.

@adamtheduell @_LibertyWallace Some intelligent, driven people/couples can often accomplish far more in a limited time than those without that capacity might imagine. Why do you assume that her capacity is so low that her husband must be her assistant?

Oh, imagine that! One of the top voices in the conservative Christian female political commentary space doesn't think that the traditional household/homemaking resurgence is biblically based! Who could have seen this coming?! (My wife doesn't have time to speak at conferences)

@foucachon I’m shocked that anyone voted “no.” Audiobooks might not give the benefits of written words, but physical books don’t have the benefits of spoken words. The spoken word has a very important place in Scripture, and for many centuries the sole way the Bible was given to the people.

The Christian Super Bowl Ad They SHOULD Have Made A group known as 'He Gets Us' released an advert during the Super Bowl which, whilst perhaps well intentioned, failed to convey anything of the gospel to the hundreds of millions who saw it. Here's my take on what they should have done. #HeSavesUs

How am I ever going to explain it to my daughter? Do I hide my scars from her forever? I think I should. When she gets older she’ll notice all women have something that mom doesn’t. My son will notice too, but my poor daughter. What message would that send to her? God help me.
