@EP_Freely @PhysInHistory It was still a good conversation.
Thank for the friendly back and forth.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @PhysInHistory Results is not a good word in this context, I agree.
English

I absolutely agree for the most part. Epistemology follows metaphysics and concept formation is central to how we know. It really is the basis for all higher knowledge.
That said, while theories are built from those concepts, I still see them as explanatory models rather than conclusive 'results.' Results are the facts and observations that theories explain and organize, and theories themselves can evolve with new evidence.
English

@EP_Freely @PhysInHistory Close, I'll give you that.
But I'd like to add that concept formation doesn't presuppose everything, it's a key process within epistemology. Theories arise from it, but epistemology (and philosophy as a whole) provides the broader framework.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @PhysInHistory yeah, everything is presupposed by concept formation.
English

I wouldn't even call it that because theories aren't 'results.' Results are conclusive (facts, observations, proofs). Theories are explanatory models built on concepts; they can and do evolve as knowledge grows.
Facts are what theories explain and organize; they aren't usually "calculated ideas" in the same integrative sense.
English

@PhysInHistory Everything is subsumed by philosophy. Theory is the result of concept formation in epistemology.

@hummmHUH @WallStreetMav Says by 3rd world ideologists who can't even conceptualize the mass nor comprehend human nature.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @WallStreetMav Masses are foolish by very nature..
English

@hummmHUH @WallStreetMav A perception that is irrelevant to the mass.
English

@WallStreetMav There should be no country.. Only THE EARTH.. and people can move here and there freely 🏅

@ClownWorld Spending her last good 10 years to be a prostitute. I'd be surprise if anyone hires her at all.

English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @Rothmus @Objectobot I may not read her books then because I am a believer
This world is a matrix, a simulation & has little relevance for eternal souls, which is what we are; a dream we awake from and leave behind. " a tale told by an idiot full of sound & fury, signifying nothing" Shakespeare
English

No, that isn't the concept at all. As stated before the quote from The Objectivist Ethics follows:
"It (rationality) means the rejection of any form of mysticism, i.e., any claim to some nonsensory, nonrational, nondefinable, supernatural source of knowledge. It means a commitment to reason, not in sporadic fits or on selected issues or in special emergencies, but as a permanent way of life."
- Ayn Rand
As for needing the divine is a deeply personal perception that irrelevant to the masses. What you require for yourself is not perceived or required by others, nor is it your obligation to define that standard for them.
Ayn Rand would likely have gone further if you knew anything about her, as the proclaimed atheist she was. In my terms, she crossed from anti-theism into atheism by actively denouncing what I see as merely personally irrelevant.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @Rothmus @Objectobot That's the basis upon which I agree with her.
I think it's how the concept actually works.
I have her books, and will start reading them. I'm sure one quote doesn't say it all.
In other words, sole focus on the individual in fact leads to nothing because we need the divine.
English

That's not what she's implying to at all. Individualism has nothing to do with anything "divine", the quote states it.
"He must live for his own sake, neither sacrificing himself to others nor others to himself".
Individualism is a singular concept in of itself as a person, not a connection to any entity or idea.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @Rothmus @Objectobot I believe in this idea too.
It ultimately leads to your own divine self as created by your divine Father where the greatest happiness lies. Connection to One.
All else is secondary.
English

@ClownWorld No one reads these kind of resumes.
Hence why so many illegal get these kind of jobs.
English

@ClownWorld There's always the gray area.
As vast as the Pacific Sea itself.
English

@ClownWorld @PpollingNumbers They already lost the plot by thinking polls are accurate.
Much like this example, all data like polls are curated for a narrative and agenda purposes.
English

@PpollingNumbers Elon Musk is not right wing
Whoever made this list is an absolute clown 🤡

Some things are just out of our control.
Especially with the current large divide we have in our country sadly. You'd never catch me voting for a Democrat, but Trump was fishy from the start.
I want the Save American Act and the Trump AI act, but expect far more, ya know? But I am not saying you're wrong.
English

@_Shall_Not_Pass @AutismCapital So we have to break the fourth wall. It’s the only option
