Note to anyone seeing this: I'm being shadow banned, most likely for my political opinions. No one seems to see my tweets unless they notice me replying to someone else's conversations, and even my followers don't get notified when I post.
If you're a follower or are otherwise interested in my content, the only reliable way to see it is to check my feed directly from time to time. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have no control over the matter.

@thekmacdonald @JefferyCMay @esrtweet @fred_guttenberg [rolls eyes]
You're clearly not the type who can be reasoned with, so believe whatever gets you through the night.
Now go away, you disingenuous little nutjob.
English

@_WizardGuy_ @JefferyCMay @esrtweet @fred_guttenberg I am not the one living with existential fear, to the point I need guns and ammo to “protect” anything. The statistics also do not illustrate the use case you describe. How about stop lying and just admit your culture is thirsty for murdering.
English

If you were horrified last night watching our elected leaders run and scramble because of gun violence, just imagine how my daughter Jaime felt in school running from an active shooter before she was killed.
Now, becomes a part of the solution and only vote for people determined to address gun violence in America.
English

@cheaprentalyeti @esrtweet I'm not interested in the project. I just find "shiny new rust" to be an odd turn of phrase. :P
English

@_WizardGuy_ @esrtweet Brian Lunduke has been covering its progress.
English

For the last six weeks - specifically since the 13th of February - I have been shipping a software release a day.
This is because I have been marching through my 62 personal open-source software projects with fire, sword, and robot friend. Fixing bugs, implementing wishlist features, hardening code, and cleaning up over 40 years of technical debt. I also did first ship on two small projects during the march.
AI, amplifying my skills, made this possible. We live in a time of wonders.
Today I reached the end of the string.
Now I can take on new projects without the constant feeling that I might be neglecting the older ones - and knowing that my code has been judged solid by state-of-the-art AIs. (Plural because I started with ChatGPT 5.1 and am now on 5.5. Grok was helpful for research and questions.)
There's still plenty for me to work on. Watch this space.
English

@DschlopesIsBack > "Starting to think that the party funding the KKK and trying to kill presidents probably aren’t the good guys."

English

@cheaprentalyeti @esrtweet > "shiny new rust version"
[raised eyebrow]
Filing that one under "phrases I never expected to hear".
English

@esrtweet Weren't you working on a go version of uutils at one point? With what I've heard of the shiny new rust version, a go version might be useful about now.
English

@thekmacdonald @JefferyCMay @esrtweet @fred_guttenberg If you really want a "gun toting American" to shoot you, then attack one or break into his home. Otherwise there's no need to shoot you, and that you think they want to anyway says far more about your mental state than it does theirs.
English

@JefferyCMay @esrtweet @fred_guttenberg My problem is that every gun toting American won’t grow a pair and fucking shoot me. Like THIS is what you dream of, right? Just annihilating someone you don’t know, ideally at range, with high calibres? This is what YOU want and moan about all the time.
English

@_WizardGuy_ @YouTube My husband bought me a shirt about outbreeding the idiots after some public confrontations because I was pregnant and holding a toddler.
Decade+ late, dear sir!

@FogfieldProject If those who stay are safe, that suggests that this is a war of aggression rather than one of defense. The only people I'd expect to sign up are the ones who don't care about that distinction and just want to fight anyway.
English

@esrtweet @DavidShuster Can Trump put the press through the red/blue button experiment? It would do wonders for his approval rating, I'm sure.
English

@DavidShuster I'm not a Trumpist, but your butthurt vastly amuses me anyway. The press has been waging a malicious partisan war on him so long that if he is warring back it is justly deserved.
English

With the White House Correspondents Association declaring Donald Trump an “honoree” at tonight’s dinner, I declined an organization’s invitation to attend. The sane washing of Trump and his war on the press is dangerous. And the WHCA is an absolute disgrace. #WHCD
English

@J_Von_Random @NiohBerg Yeah, that tracks. Most of the insults the Utensil spewed at me revolved around my being American.
These people are so blinded by arrogance and hatred of us that they're setting themselves up to be conquered over it.
English

@_WizardGuy_ @NiohBerg I've seen that attitude as well. They are absolutely convinced that the cold war was America and the Soviet Union (but primarily America) imposing on them.
English

Britain could lose the Falklands because of weak leadership.
It's not the 80s anymore, there's no Thatcher in charge and the UK is a depressing shell of its former self.
If Argentina simply walks in and takes over, possibly soon with Trump's approval, what exactly will Keir Starmer do? Send an angry worded letter? Would he even care at all?

English

@mask_bastard @GreedNGarlic Eh, even as a kid back then I didn't see the point of going tribal over it. I was happy to play either one or PC and I wasn't much concerned about what anyone else did.
English

@AydinPaladin @antiderivative1 @TeamYouTube This was about writing rather than videos, but I think the same basic concept applies:

WizardGuy@_WizardGuy_
@SarahAHoyt @JeffCoPops @JulieCFrost It's funny when you think about it. LLMs use em-dashes because humans use then, and those LLMs were trained on human writing. So in essence, we're being told that the way to make our writing seem more human is to... stop writing like a human? Okay guys, great plan there.
English

@antiderivative1 @TeamYouTube The ironic thing is that they're using AI moderation to get rid of AI (which is what this demonitisation is about) but their AI can't tell the difference between real people and AI, lol.
English

I just had to block a blue button advocate. Not only did he keep refusing to acknowledge that the scenario creator was morally responsible and blaming the red side for mass murder, he wouldn't leave me alone even when I called him a moral degenerate and told him to go away.
I almost WANT the scenario to play out now just so people like that can be culled.
English

I recently got into it with Aristocratic Utensil - a European with a significant following - when I asked him how Europe plans to defend itself if America withdraws. If that conversation is anything to go by, they don't even think they'll need to defend themselves because they don't believe they'll ever be attacked.
Beyond that, I couldn't even get him to answer the question. He just kept trying to get under my skin with insults and stopped responding when that didn't work.
English

Britain in the 80s wasn't much either: it was a heroic stretch for them to get enough forces there to challenge even the Argentines.
Falklands were the British equivalent of the Majorian attempt to secure grain supplies, except the operation actually happened instead of being countered before it started.
But the empire was already long past terminal decline either way.
English

@Sword_Domo @AUsername360 @SCShipyards So in addition to being a moral degenerate, you're also too stupid to understand what "go away" means. So noted.
[blocked]
English

@_WizardGuy_ @AUsername360 @SCShipyards you sided with the aggressor when you could have put down the weapon.
English

Red guarantees survival.
Blue does not.
If you can't comprehend that, that's a "you" problem.
just matt@questionableway
red is an unbelievably phenomenally disgustingly selfish decision and i do not have theory of mind for anyone who would choose it
English

@Sword_Domo @AUsername360 @SCShipyards No, we agree that you keep trying to shift blame from the aggressor (the one forcing participation) to the victims (the ones being forced to choose a button). Which puts you on the side of evil.
Go away, degenerate.
English

@_WizardGuy_ @AUsername360 @SCShipyards so we agree youd kill people when you could've picked not to.
English

@Sword_Domo @AUsername360 @SCShipyards Performed AT GUNPOINT, you twisted little degenerate. If you can't grasp how that changes where the accountability should go then you aren't fit to lecture anyone on the subject of morality.
I think we're done here.
English

Not when I'm being forced to choose between pressing that button or being in the gas chamber myself.
To paraphrase John Galt from memory: "Tell the bastard to look at me, then look at himself in a mirror, and ask himself whether I would ever consider MY moral stature to be at the mercy of HIS actions."
English

@_WizardGuy_ @AUsername360 @SCShipyards you pressed the gas people button but dont think you should be responsible for gassing people at all?
English
