Sporting Blue Valley's newest ECNL Girls Coach: Mario Felix! Coach Felix will be coaching our U13 and U19 ECNL girls teams for the 2026-27 season, and acting as our College Recruiting Coordinator. This is the first time in over a decade that Sporting Blue Valley will have three ECNL Girls coaches, and we couldn't be more thrilled about Coach Mario's addition. Coach Felix is a proven winner at every level of women's soccer. His collegiate resume includes stops at Kansas State, Missouri, UC Santa Barbara, Southern Utah, Westmont College, and Bethel College. He fueled a 7-win improvement at UCSB in a single season, coached Southern Utah to its highest winning percentage in program history, and helped Westmont reach an NAIA #6 national ranking and the GSAC Tournament final. But more importantly, he strengthens our path to D1. Mario is a former USYNT Scout, a current iD2 Scout, and holds his USSF National B License. Which means he knows exactly what college coaches look for when recruiting players. Sporting Blue Valley has sent hundreds of players to the highest levels of women's soccer, and Coach Mario's addition reinforces our commitment to continuing that standard. With his recruiting background and college coaching experience, our young women will have an even stronger support system as they pursue opportunities at the next level. He's already helped a handful of Sporting BV players with their college commitments through his company FTA, and now he's bringing that expertise to our club on a personal level, accessible to all of our young women pursuing the college track. Welcome Coach Mario, we're excited to have you!

This afternoon, the @LD77Foundation took part in the @LA84Foundation’s Play Day Block Party—an annual celebration of the National Day of Play. The block party’s goal is to highlight the power of sport, play, and movement in young people’s lives, and how all three can bring communities together. Luka’s foundation was on hand distributing healthy snacks while introducing attendees to its recently announced Stay in Play International Grant Program.

A snippet of code from the PhysicalAttack() routine that handles bows. Characters in TerraNova can have handedness, so the player can choose to field a bow for more power or more accuracy. Ambidextrous characters get no bonus, but suffer no penalty either. #indiegames #gml

If you're going all in on AI in Customer Service, which is the smarter path? A. Fully replace humans with advanced AI voice systems that are almost indistinguishable from real people. SpaceX is already doing this with @Starlink routing support calls straight to @grok Voice, which handles technical issues, sales, and scheduling in natural conversation. It's even upselling to higher service plans. B. Keep your existing (often offshore) teams, but use real-time AI voice masking to neutralize accents and make every agent sound clearer and more “local.” @TELUS built (and is now deploying) exactly this technology in-house to reduce “accent friction” on calls... which is wild. Both are ways companies are reducing costs for the company. But are they in the customers best interest? I believe the technology is improving so fast that, very soon, no one will be able to tell the difference at all. For now, I'll be watching how customers react, or if they even notice, or care. Have you recognized your on with an AI voice agent someplace? I've definitely been getting cold sales calls from a few and just hang up. *Articles in the comments

If I’m head of sales org strategy for an AI company I’m splitting my structure into two teams: 🚢 Legacy: older, slower moving companies that need to adapt or die 💻Tech: fast pace, innovative companies looking for the next level thing Value prop, execution and strategy to onboard AI is completely different between the two so orgs need to operate accordingly.

Been seeing a lot of criticism for #daraxonrasib not being a cure, or only usable in <10% cancers (mostly from non-clinicians). As a future neuro-oncologist, treating (currently) incurable malignant tumors I think daraxonrasib stands for so much more: - Double the time patients have with loved ones - Hope for other RAS(on) cancers - backbone for further trials - a reminder that the oncology field is rapidly changing to inspire future clinician leaders in our field to continue innovating despite the current odds

🚨 Hot take: AI coding tools are monetizing the wrong thing. What if they copied the Chinese internet playbook? 👀 Imagine this: 🤖 Your AI agent is busy coding... Meanwhile you: 🎮 Play a mini-game 📺 Watch short videos 📢 View a few ads Earn enough points → get free AI tokens. And while you're waiting for the model to respond? Choose to watch an ad and instantly earn bonus credits. It's a win-win: • AI companies unlock a new ad revenue stream 💰 • Developers get free tokens instead of staring at a loading spinner ⏳ • Waiting becomes entertainment instead of frustration 🎉 Everyone complains about AI token costs. Maybe the loading screen is the next billion-dollar ad platform. 😂 Would you use an AI coding tool like this?

Sunday Reflections 8: Investing for the future In a previous reflection, I wrote about achieving financial freedom as a way to reduce the stress of staying in a job purely due to financial pressure, especially if you are no longer passionate about it or enjoying the work. Today, I am focusing on salaried professionals and a less investment-savvy audience, so some of you might find these concepts a bit basic. There are many ways to invest, and I find that the most effective strategy is building a diversified portfolio. While there are countless investment categories, my personal methodology classifies them into these core areas: - Fixed-income bonds and deposits. - Equity and shares in listed companies. - Residential and commercial real estate. - Angel investing and unlisted companies (private equity). - The oldest method of storing wealth, which is currently trending again: gold and silver. In a perfect world, by the time you leave your day job, you should have a mix of the above that generates half to two-thirds of the salary you were earning. I will delve into each of these categories in separate reflections, but for now, I want to touch on a few fundamental concepts. Consistency is critical. Having a regular investment scheme, whether monthly from your salary or annually from your bonus, makes a tremendous difference over the long term. Generally, you should maintain two types of savings: short-term savings for things you need or want today, and long-term savings for your future. Make sure you strike the right balance and never neglect the long-term portion. Furthermore, in an unsteady job market, it is essential to build an emergency fund of liquid assets that can sustain you for three to six months. It is not unusual for companies to trim their workforce to maintain profitability, and you must be prepared. Another vital concept in investing is compound growth. If you save $100 every year for 20 years, you will have saved $2,000. But if you are getting a 7% annual return and do not withdraw those returns, you will end up with around $4,100—more than double what you invested. Of course, there are assets that can perform far better than 7%, meaning the upside potential is immense. It is also important to understand that your asset allocation should evolve with your age. Younger people can afford to invest more heavily in equities; they carry higher risk but offer significantly higher potential returns. Conversely, as you age, pivoting toward fixed income and real estate makes more sense, as they provide a much more stable and predictable yield. I will talk more about these specific categories next week. My question to you today: if you are employed, have you built an emergency savings fund to cover six months of your living expenses? #Sundayreflections #reflections #leadership #investment

What to do: invest in systems that compound. Let your team execute. Spend your time closing deals, not writing hooks. The clock is ticking.
