I totally get that commentators/pundits are at the behest of FOM to be positive about the new regs, I really do.
…but we might need to find a bit of balance and honesty. There’s no way that they all wholeheartedly and unanimously agree that everything is great. Some of them may, some won’t. It’s actually those debates that I think viewers would enjoy more. Differing opinions make better telly and people aren’t silly.

We kunnen het eigenlijk pas over een maand of twee zeggen. Iedereen is verschillende taktieken en technieken aan het gebruiken om te racen. Over twee maanden gebruikt iedereen de bewezen techniek en zal het meer op racen gaan lijken. Kijk maar naar ferrari vandaag. Verder moeten we accepteren dat Mercedes naast een top motor ook een top auto heeft gebouwd.

Wheel to wheel racing out in front has been thrilling at points. Kimi's pole adds a fascinating edge to title battle already. And Lewis seems to be back to his old self. Ingredients all there for a fun season

Arvid Lindblad's stoppage in FP1 was down to a chassis hardware problem, the car is now fixed. He's only done six laps - he's up against it in sprint qualifying, but now has a chance to do something special...
