You are here. Something to keep in mind. A look here at the #cmdtyView seasonal charts showing a tight correlation with Dec 2014 chart. Might be something, might mean nothing but definitely worth noting (I like notes if you haven't noticed). What's very interesting to me is the Dec26 contract highs align very closely with the Dec14 highs. Over the last 5 years Dec futures have declined 100% of the time from May 1st to May 31st on average of 13.25c. From a risk mgmt standpt, if one hasn't rewarded or thought about it yet, might be a good time to at least have some targets in place ahead of next weeks reports.

Obviously a lot of talk about the overtime of Bills vs Broncos. Here are my thoughts on all of the big rulings down the stretch:
No Flag for PI on Denver
I support the decision to not flag Denver on the fade route. Is there contact? Sure, but it’s a play on to me.
Interception or Catch?
The interception is a wild play, with a lot going on. Seeing it full speed, I thought it was an interception and would’ve ruled it that way if I was on the field. My perspective on it is that Cooks lost the ball as soon as his body hit the ground. In my opinion, if there was no defender near him and he lost the ball when he hit the ground, the ruling would’ve been incomplete.
I would have liked to see the game stopped for a more formal review, with an announcement from the referee on exactly how they ruled.
Pass Interference #1 on Bills
I didn’t think this was a foul. It was, to me, the same play that happened the drive before with Denver and didn’t warrant a flag. Noting that on that play there was a flag for Roughing the Passer too, so Denver still would’ve got a first down.

In theory, ag lenders should love this idea. If they’re properly managing the associated risk they’re internalizing; they virtually eliminate the chance for the loan “defaulting” when the reference market drops significantly.

Is there a regulatory reason why ag lenders don’t offer operating notes that reduce principal and interest when a given commodity price (or basket of commodity prices) declines over a certain time frame? Yes, these notes would necessarily have a higher interest rate than a regular operating note to account for the imbedded risk management. Though, given the existence of a relatively liquid option market, the risk is relatively trivial to price and hedge if the note was structured properly. Would producers be interested in this sort of thing? For example, a note that reduced total principal and interest payments by 2% every penny from 4.25 to 3.75 as measured by Dec futures at Dec option expiration. Of course, these could be incredibly flexible regarding reduction amount, timing, prices, etc.

Private jets are time machines. Yesterday morning, I walked my daughter to school at 7:45 AM. I was in Fargo by 10:00 AM for a venture capital conference. Flew from Fargo to Milwaukee last night. Attending another conference today. Will fly back after and be home in time for a late supper with the wife and kids.
