Rust is a cult. And this statement from the Linux Kernel maintainer is yet another example of Rust Cultism.
"Rust is going to save us!"
Save us... from what? That's never actually defined.
The implication is that our core "goodness" depends on using Rust. On replacing unclean C code with Rust.
In other words: Rust zealots are proclaiming that blind acceptance of "Rust" will save our souls.
It's a cult. A very, very weird cult.

Obviously not perfect. There's lots of pre-processor trickery that can confuse this method. But it was useful to get a very rough idea of what functions in my code (which I know is very straightforward) should be probably not called in the multi-threaded context.

I don’t see how handmade everything doesn’t come sweeping back in a huge tsunami. Everything: films, music, games, art. All of it is going to be heavily human (and so obvious, and marketed that way). the revolutionary "transformers" technology is also the core limitation of what is being expected out of all of it. Human languages are limiting. So you're always limited to what do we mean when we say so and so. That is something cannot be bypassed without bypassing or changing the medium of expression.
I'm sure you can run models locally with lmstudio, I've used it, so I'm sure tools are already there. It is like having pencil and paper to begin with for AI.

Look at the revolution in protein research because of AI, that was only possible because the quality of dataset is very good. It is open source, community driven and provides millions of protein structures to train on.

I do think there's a period of time where a solid programmer with good ideas can actually live an almost entirely adhoc life probing agents to ship things in a way that scale. I dont think it lasts long and am certain we all ruin it soon, but it does feel like there's a decade or two for these wizards to perform perceived magic
