After eight years of building @AztecNetwork, the network is about to go live at Alpha. My co-founders @zac_aztec and @_arnauds_ are moving to @aztecFND to steward the protocol, while I am returning to my roots: building privacy products people actually use.

The EF is not turning away from real-world adoption, and we’re not just catering to a cypherpunk niche Doubling down on self-sovereign coordination means focusing on use cases Ethereum uniquely unlocks: unstoppable money, organizations, markets; user-owned identity, agents, social networks; programmable governance, insurance, credit, property rights These may have sounded fringe a decade ago, but as geopolitical instability, debt crises, and corporate monopolies grow so does demand for systems with unbreakable guarantees Our role at the EF is to ensure that Ethereum delivers those guarantees, both as credibly neutral infrastructure and as a rich ecosystem of applications that let users coordinate without trusted intermediaries

Some professional news: I'm joining Anthropic's editorial team! I'll be leading the team's work on economics and policy, and working closely with the Anthropic Institute (about which more here: x.com/AnthropicAI/st…). Dramatic AI progress is coming in the next two years, and researchers+policymakers+the public alike will need the best information available about that shift. It's a big new challenge, and I can’t wait to get started. [Some important housekeeping: I’ll keep running Statecraft at @IFP as a Nonresident Senior Fellow! And will remain on the board at Recoding America/ as a journalist-in-residence at @johnshopkins School of Government and Policy. I start at Anthropic in a few weeks.] The move from frontier think tank to frontier lab is bittersweet. I’ve been at IFP for three years, and it’s been the most formative professional experience of my life. In a short period of time, IFP has become one of the most effective institutions in DC, generating a truly shocking amount of counterfactual policy impact (not all of it public). Being on this team has permanently raised my ambitions. I'm very grateful.

A breakthrough in real-time video generation. As a research preview developed with @NVIDIA and shared at @NVIDIAGTC this week, we trained a new real-time video model running on Vera Rubin. HD videos generate instantly, with time-to-first-frame under 100ms. Unlocking an entirely new creative paradigm and bolstering the foundations of our General World Model, GWM-1. Real-time generation opens a fundamentally different design space for video models and world simulation. We're investing in co-designing our models alongside advances in hardware to keep pushing this frontier.

BIG nuclear news: today the Government has released its plans to implement @JohnFingleton1’s landmark nuclear review. The headline: ‘Building our Nuclear Nation’ is very good news for British nuclear, implementing almost all of the transformational recommendations, but not quite everything. The Government has committed to almost every recommendation and outlined a detailed plan to implement them. The Government says it will fix the outdated radiation rules, revise effective ban on SMRs across swathes of the country, set up a nuclear regulatory commission and more!
