Mumbai Hacks : India’s Largest Agentic AI Hackathon turned out to be a complete mess. The event was so crowded that participants didn’t even got seats people were literally sitting on the floor. After that, the power supply kept fluctuating… and the biggest requirement of any hackathon WIFI wasn’t available at all. Till 1 PM, they kept saying “our team is working on it”, so we waited patiently. And then suddenly they said the Nesco power supply for WiFi got burned because of “high demand”. Like seriously? You invite such a huge crowd and don’t prepare basic infrastructure? They claimed “every desk will now have WiFi for one laptop”, but even that wasn’t working. No volunteers, no support, zero management. We had no option at midnight but to stay. By morning, the WiFi was still dead. So slow that even installing one npm package took 30 minutes. We’re from Mumbai, so we could still manage somehow. But what about people who came from other states? They were struggling like anything. some even brought their own extension boards, some were running to cafes at night just to get WiFi. At this point, the hackathon had no value, no mentors, no guidance, no support. We finally gave up. If you cannot manage a large crowd, why even invite thousands? Just for marketing? Just to make “Guinness Book of World record”? 🤡

Currently attending Mumbai Hacks 2025, and this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had till date. I am Varun, winner of mumbai hacks 2024 and from my experience I can say the management has degraded a lot from last year. @mumbai_tech_ @madeinmumbai_ #mumbaihacks
