Why I don't go 9mm - lack of stopping power.

Security footage was released today after it was announced that the two Gastonia police officers who shot and killed a man at a convenience store in January won’t face any criminal charges. Before getting into the details, as someone who has spent a lot of time in Gastonia, NC, this is the most "Gastonia" gas station conversation I've ever heard (audio up) 😎 -very good body positioning by the cop to conceal his 4 o'clock draw and a solid draw and first shot on target time 🤌🏽 -the cop took at least two shots on the threat while the threat was at a 90 degree angle; good example of why the 12-18'' penetration standard is the standard. I was on a train in Tokyo. We stopped between stations. Announcement in Japanese, then in English: "We apologize for the delay. We will resume shortly."
The delay was maybe 3 minutes. Not a big deal.
When the train started moving again, another announcement: "We sincerely apologize for the delay. We were stopped for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. This is unacceptable. Thank you for your patience."
Three minutes and twenty seconds. They measured it exactly. And called it unacceptable.
When I got off at my stop, there were station staff on the platform bowing and handing out delay certificates.
I took one out of curiosity. It was an official document stating that the train had been delayed by 3 minutes and 20 seconds, signed and stamped.
The staff member said in English "for your employer. So they know the delay was not your fault."
I said I'm a tourist, I don't need it. He looked confused. "But the delay affected you. You deserve an apology."
Three minutes. They were treating a three-minute delay like a major incident.
Later I mentioned this to a Japanese friend. They said "oh yes, delay certificates are normal. Trains are supposed to be exactly on time. If they are late, they must apologize."
I said three minutes isn't late, it's nothing. My friend said "in Japan, three minutes is late. On time means on time. Not approximately on time."
They said the train company probably investigated why there was a 3-minute delay. "They will find the cause and fix it so it doesn't happen again."
I kept the certificate. It's framed in my apartment now. A reminder that somewhere in the world, people care about three minutes.

This week, Frum Instagram hit rock bottom. I was trying to ignore it, but how can I stay silent in the face of such a blatant Chillul Hashem. Flatbush Girl has encouraged Frum/Orthodox Jewish women to post revealing parts of their body ("showing erva") as a form of protest or pressure tactic to help a woman who's husband is refusing to give her a get (Jewish divorce). Let's recall her previous controversy: the mikvah strike—urging frum wives to withhold sex on Mikvah night until the community pressures the get refuser. Rabbi Hershel Schachter at the time, called it "terribly destructive" and morally wrong. What would he say about this?! This is utterly grotesque, morally bankrupt, and spiritually catastrophic. Marital intimacy is holy. Tznius is not some optional costume to be discarded when it suits the latest Instagram crusade. Anyone who promotes such filth under the banner of agunah advocacy is not a heroine — she is a stumbling block before the blind on a communal scale. It should go without saying that this is not activism — it is a disgrace to the Torah and a profound betrayal of everything we stand for.
