How Russia’s War Against Ukraine Began in 2014 In Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk, Luhansk, and other Ukrainian cities, a huge number of buses arrived from Russia in 2014 — with clearly visible Russian license plates. People who arrived on these buses organized protests demanding that Russia send troops. Among the protesters, one can recognize leaders of Russian military units, such as Arsen Pavlov (“Motorola”), who later led the Russian terrorist organization DPR and was eventually eliminated. He was also notorious for shooting at residential buildings in Donetsk. These people openly declared that they were seizing power by force in Ukrainian cities and publicly asked Russia to invade Ukraine. In Odesa, these groups killed several children during the protests and then ended up in the middle of a football march, after which they were forced to flee from enraged locals. Today, the Kremlin cynically accuses Ukrainians of “burning Russians” in the House of Trade Unions, ignoring how those events actually began. Russia failed to establish control in Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia — managing to entrench itself only in Donetsk and Luhansk. Local residents came out in large counter-protests against them. That is why, in footage from those protests, you can see Russian flags among Ukrainian crowds — these were not Ukrainians, but people brought in from Russia. Such protests were also massive in Crimea and Donetsk and, unfortunately, ended in bloodshed, because Russians disguised as civilians were armed. @WhiteHouse @POTUS @JDVance @marcorubio @generalkellogg
