REPEAT: if there was genuine seriousness in making women’s reservation a reality before 2029 GE, then why not reserve 1/3rd in present Lok Sabha of 543. Or would the male MPs have not accepted it? (IMPORTANT: the Nari Shakti Vandan constitution amendment bill 2023 has ALREADY been passed. If serious, fast track that too!)

The subject of delimitation needs many more debates. Why should citizens of India accept 50% rise in legislators without even knowing the merits and demerits for such a massive change. How can such a massive proposal for 50% increase in legislators strength be pushed down over merely a 3-day parliament session without first debating the whole matter? The delimitation freeze gonna come to end in 2026. It is the right time for govt to bring a proposal and put in public domain months before debate in the parliament. Do people have no say in the matter @priyankac19?
