Andy Burnham asked me to meet him yesterday and I said no. Not because I am against him. Not because I cannot help him (and our country) and vice versa. But because I already made a promise to someone else. My son. I promised to take him out for the day to see hawks and owls! I always remember kids don’t do what you say, they do what you do. And if I promised to take my son out for the day then didn’t - what does a promise mean after that. I am sure Andy would understand. Infact I know he does.

As a carer, this is so wonderful to hear. I challenge anyone to work a 12-hour shift on a secure dementia/ Alzheimers ward and tell me our work isn’t skilled and shouldn’t be highly respected and valued.

@_imey @PippyBing Those fresh off the boat migrants need a degree to be a nurse and have to be able to remain compliant with UK standards which requires regular competency testing. They will accept lower wages but these africans have jobs because a load of europeans don’t want them

@PippyBing Just because something is hard or difficult or strenuous, doesn't mean it's skilled. The fact that we have fresh off the boat migrants with no qualifications doing the work testifies to that.
