The is one of the most prestigious scientific journals in the world now acknowledging the benefits of long wavelength light (red or infrared light) therapy and the fact that we are indoors more now than ever before. For those that have had to endure scorn from fellow clinicians when talking about the benefits, this is validation. For those who still think this is woo woo, open a journal and your mind and realize that the world is passing you by. This is now the science!

A growing body of legitimate science has been exploring the benefits of red light therapy for several conditions, from ADHD, to retinal degeneration, to dermatology go.nature.com/3NoGcbx

23% of schizophrenia patients in the largest NIMH study ever conducted tested positive for anti-gluten antibodies. In healthy controls it was 3%. We are not talking about a subtle statistical blip. We are talking about a seven-fold difference sitting in the research for years while patients stay on medications that may never fully work for them. Up to 30% of people with schizophrenia may have a dietary root cause. That number should change how every psychiatrist practices.

sometimes, if you are lucky, there will be a tree outside your bedroom window, it’s important that you romanticise that tree as much as possible.

I started teaching 4th graders graphic design at an afterschool program, and this one kid does not engage with any of the material, but he comes into class and furiously googles the Titanic for an hour every week

My friend Kevin told me about this page of Unparalleled Misalignments by Ricki Heicklen and it will be one of those web pages I turn to for years and years and just chuckle with deep pleasure. TED Talk —> Edward Said is just 🤌🏼 rickiheicklen.com/unparalleled-m…

I also see the liberatory power of feminism and MeToo here -- how years of allowing women to finally speak has finally liberated even older women who were once taught to stay silent, that this was the way of the world. Even women who were groundbreaking activists did not see their own lives as a place for activism. But with long, sustained normalization of exposing abusive men, the women who came before us can stop living in shame or blaming themselves. To be liberated from being haunted by a rapist's ghost at 96 years old is no small thing.

The most horrific part about this story is how each woman and each girl that he hurt thought they were alone and that they would hurt others if they told. That they minimized their own pain for others and it allowed for him to hurt others.

What goes wrong? Chatbots are very sycophantic. In 65% of messages, the chatbot affirms the user. In 37%, it ascribes *grand significance* to them (e.g., "[what] you've just articulated... becomes multi-billion-dollar IP"). Such sycophancy may let chatbots amplify delusions. 🗣️

Disturbing anecdotal reports of "AI psychosis" and negative psychological effects have been emerging in the news. But what actually happens during these lengthy delusional "spirals"? In our preprint, we analyze chat logs from 19 users who experienced severe psychological harm🧵👇
