@WilliamShatner @RobertPicardo If u had a Tesla this wouldn’t ever happen

I’m excited to announce a partnership with @Uber. As part of this, Uber plans to invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian and deploy up to 50,000 R2 robotaxis. This partnership accelerates our path to Level 4 autonomy and supports our goal of building one of the safest autonomous platforms in the world—across both shared and personally owned vehicles. The combination of Rivian’s rapidly growing data flywheel, our in-house RAP1 inference platform (800 TOPS), and our multi-modal perception stack provides a powerful foundation to scale autonomy quickly and responsibly over the next couple of years.

Watching all 5 minutes of video from every camera took some time, but this behavior is so extremely suspect even for a potentially mistaken Turo: 1. The couple walked up and away with no bags. In an airport parking lot. 2. The guy touched the car all over. The spoiler, the diffuser, and the running boards. 3. At one point the man stood watch while the woman walked around filming the car. 4. The guy forcibly trying to remove the charger to the point of potential damage. What good would this have done? 5. When they left, they began looking at a non-Tesla of a different color a few cars down (that’s when my sentry footage ended). Attempting to steal a Tesla is a monumentally stupid endeavor. It’s impossible with the tools they had (which were none). So, that doesn’t add up. Breaking and entering is possible, but the couple doesn’t look like the type. And at 9am? Doesn’t add up. Sizing up the car for a later theft is the most possible conclusion after the Turo hypothesis. But again, why linger for 5 minutes? Doesn’t add up. I’m forced to go with the Turo scenario, except for as I enumerated above, even that doesn’t add up. 🤷🏼♂️

@briandstone Per consumer reports….interesting…I’ll give my insurance company a call to see what they say.

Here's the original video, which looks like it's actual speed. I used two markers and consistently measured it. It took 75 frames in a 30 FPS video to travel 212.63 ft equating to 57.9 MPH (probably 60). The incident occurred in August of 2025. These are just facts. Yes the driver should have intervened sooner. Yes, FSD was approaching way too fast.

@DBurkland @pbeisel It’s in testing right now. Wide release in a few weeks.
