What got us from 0 to 1 isn't what will get us from 1 to N. 3 years ago, before the launch of ChatGPT, we set out to start a company that most people thought was impossible. We built an exceptional team and earned the backing of investors like Sequoia and Founders Fund. It wasn’t easy. There were probably moments we should have pivoted. But we kept pushing. Today we work with some of the top minds in their fields - @lennysan, @bhalligan, Eckhart Tolle, Vanessa Van Edwards, Dr. Mark Hyman. Delphi is the place people go to learn from them, get their advice, and access their expertise. Looking ahead, we believe Delphi is how every human will represent themselves in the AI age. A new way for people to meet, connect with, and learn from one another. But to get there, we need to evolve. Delphi is looking for a VP of Engineering - someone who has taken a consumer platform from 1 to N and knows the tradeoffs required to build infrastructure that supports millions. An AI-native builder and culture carrier. In the early years, I had an almost allergic reaction to "experience" - I believed purely in slope over y-intercept. As we've scaled, I've come to understand that to get where we want to go, we need someone who has already been there. If that's you, or someone you know, I want to talk.

i just met with a founder who went to prison. metaphorically. he got excited about an idea. raised over $25M. hired 40 people. revenue growing 50% per month. but he is exhausted from working 6 days/week, and wants to go travel europe with his wife for 3 months. not possible. this is the part nobody tells you. venture capital isn't just money. it's a commitment. you can't pause. you can't step away. the clock is always running. raising money is signing up for a decade-long marathon. make sure you mean it.

Something I keep thinking about: millions of women told their doctors that menopause ruined their sleep. The clinical response for years was essentially "the data doesn't support that" The data did support it. It was just framed wrong. Postmenopausal women → Men (similar age) → women’s sleep looks better Postmenopausal women → Premenopausal women → Sleep is significantly worse: −14 min of sleep and −9 min of REM, on average

It’s been three weeks with a baby. First of all, she is lovely. She eats every three hours, wakes up only once a night, and is gaining weight. A truly lovely baby. But I’ve noticed enormous pressure from family. Everyone wants to visit and doesn’t want to accept that we want to wait a month before visits (especially because there’s a lot of flu going around). Everyone keeps telling us what to do. Everyone keeps saying it’s not okay to wait to see the baby. We end up trying to please everyone. Mentally, this feels harder than the baby itself. All advice is more than welcome.
