The reason why so many Republican Trump supporters are so eager to criticize the president is because they really aren't true supporters. They're just jumping at the chance to attack.

You can say, “This isn’t what I voted for” if you want. But you can’t sit out midterms. Sitting out the vote will: •Reopen borders •Bring back DEI •More unfettered fraud •More Mamdanis Be mad. Find better candidates. But do NOT roll over & give it to the “thems”🤨

So weird how the Media/Swamp class, who’ve been wrong for generations on geopolitics, keep getting outsmarted by a guy they dump all day as their intellectual inferior. And next they’ll claim it’s all “luck.” It’s not. Regardless, I’d rather side with someone “lucky,” who wins, rather than zeroes who are unlucky, and lose.

@LurkMcguirk @Trader8000 @ericmmatheny Someone thinks that if a person pays $20,000,000 in taxes, and uses minimal government services and another person pays $200 in taxes, and is wholly subsidized by government services, that the person paying $200 is a victim of an inequitable system.

Flat tax. Whether you make $1000 or $100 million. A fixed percentage for everybody. And that’s it. A one-page tax form. No bullshit. Everybody pays a reasonable and equitable amount. Everyone - from the wealthiest to the poorest - have skin in the game.

@Trader8000 @ericmmatheny It has exactly the same impact - that 80% of earned income remains. 20% of every dollar earned is taxed. Literally can not make it more "equitable."

20% tax on someone making $1000 has WAY MORE impact to the life of that person than 20% tax on someone making $100 million. That’s just simple logic. First one impact the person’s ability to survive, second one “maybe” impact the person’s decision to buy a 100 ft yacht or a 110 ft yacht. So no, this suggestion is neither equatable nor reasonable.

It’s certainly a plausible outcome. Many scouts believe Billy Carlson would have been the best SS in the majors straight from high school. The only reason he fell to 10 is because he was so young. He’ll need time to develop and learn what more challenging pitchers will do to his plate vision, but I think it will take some pretty monumental defense play from Roch down the stretch AND in the minors to shift Billy off SS. Time will tell though. Maybe Billy tries CF and wows us.

Some really promising thoughts about the future for #WhiteSox fans: -Billy Carlson is going to be a 5-Tool star. He has an advanced plate approach, great speed, and 80 grade arm/defense. His floor is Gold Glove shortstop but he'll be one of the best infielders in the game at some point. -Roch Cholowsky has a Hall of Fame caliber ceiling. He'll likely have to shift to 3B or OF (depending on Colson and Mune) to accomodate keeping Billy as captain of the IF, but his bat and range will play anywhere. He's the 3-hole hitter of the future and could be a perennial All Star, if not MVP candidate. -Braden Montgomery is already showing why he was a 1st Round Pick and the primary target of the Garrett Crochet trade. He has excellent pop, bats from both sides, is plenty fast enough to steal 20-30 bags, and has one of the best arms in MiLB. He could easily play CF, but that cannon will likely make him a perfect fit in RF for the Sox. When he gets the call, the entire offense will ignite. -Sam Antonacci has one of the higest combinations of traits and IQ in baseball, and he can play anywhere on the field. If he can dial in his contact against MLB pitching, he'll be a quality pro for a long time. And with as well (and as quickly) as he's adjusted to LF in AAA Charlotte, he should get the call before the end of the month. If not, certainly before the All Star Break. -Caleb Bonemer is like Gunnar Henderson but with more top end speed. He might not hit as many HR but he'll do everything else better, and then some. He won't have a spot at 3B or SS, but he should easily be able to adjust to 2B, CF, or LF, depending on where Meidroth/Antonacci are deployed. He has the strongest arm of the 3, so I'm interested to see how it pans out. But if he develops the way they are hoping he will, he'll be electric in the lineup when he gets to the bigs. -Munetaka Murakami is already beloved by the clubhouse, ownership, and the front office. I'll be astonished if he isn't extended. The presence of the Japanese market is clearly and notably already impactful and Justin Ishbia isn't numb to that. The question will really become just how much money he'd want to stay. If it's reasonable, I can't imagine they don't work something out. But mark my words... he will not be traded. The Sox will extend a Qualifying offer after 2027 if they can't agree on a contract. If he declines, they'll get a compensatory draft pick. Either way, he'll be here for at least the next 2 years. So enjoy the ride. -Even in his early struggles, the bat speed and pop are still evident with Colson Montgomery. Teams had all off-season to build scouting reports on how to attack him, but I wouldn't worry. He'll adjust, like he always has. When Teel and Hays come back, he'll start seeing better pitches. That will only compound when Antonacci and Braden join the lineup. All 4 players will be on the Southside before too long, so this stretch won't last. -You can feel the same way about Quero. Even in his slow start, he's taking smart pitches and his arm looks effective as ever behind the plate. I expect him to get his groove back too. I don't think he'll be in the long-term plan, but he'll build value again for us and likely still be highly coveted by other GMs. A young, contact-forward hitter who plays a premium position with a rocket arm? If we didn't have Teel, I'd be elated for him to be my Catcher of the future. Other teams will agree. -Kyle Teel's impact in the lineup is felt when it's there--and sorely missed when it's not, as evidenced by this abysmal stretch from the team to open the season. Losing him to start the year will hurt for a bit, but when he returns he'll ignite the clubhouse and bring game-changing at-bats to the top of the order with plus/plus defense behind the plate. His absence is proof he should be Chris Getz's priority #1 for an extension. -Whether Grant Taylor transitions to a starter or stays in the pen, the Sox basically have Mason Miller 2.0. He'll either help this team ascend or bring in a package of prospects that will blow your hair back. Look at what the A's got last year... Grant is 5 years younger. I hope we find a way to keep him, but the front office has already telegraphed that they probably can't afford to. Regardless, he's already brought massive value and will continue to do so through either outcome. -Despite the rough start, one thing is very clear: Shane Smith's stuff is still electric. He needs to build confidence and honestly I love the idea of sending him down to work on command. It's going to pay dividends, just like it did for Colson. I'm not convinced he will stick as a starter; I think in the long run, he'd actually make for an elite reliever. But he'll attempt to reign in his command again and should at least make for a viable starter for most of this year. He's a high character guy and a hard worker, I like that the organization is betting on him. I would too. -Davis Martin gets better every year and his changeup is crossing into elite territory. Given his age, I would not be surprised if he is traded at the deadline, but he also might be the best value SP in baseball this year and for the next 2-3. I'd love for him to be our 4th or 5th starter for the foreseeable future. Other teams' scouting departments have taken note of him as a viable MLB starter dating back to at least early 2024. That trend has only gone up since then. He has solid value as a rotation stalwart OR trade bait. Either way, great news for the Sox. -Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, and Tanner McDougal all look like frontline starters in AAA Charlotte. I won't pretend to know what the timeline is for any of them, but if they keep what they've been doing up, Burke, Fedde, and maybe even Kay will be hard-pressed to keep their jobs. Their success might also dictate what they end up doing with Martin. -Christian Oppor is also spinning it like a prospect who will get on some more Top 100 lists by mid-season. He's further away from the majors than the other 3, but don't be surprised if he's in the bullpen (or even the rotation) by 2027. For all the praise our LHP prospects Schultz and Hagen deservedly get, Oppor has the best fastball by far and his command and confidence are improving every start. Think Jesus Luzardo with more top end and a harder arm slot to read as a batter. -Gabe Davis is another name you'll want to keep an eye out for. The Sox have great luck in Round 5, where they got Davis last year, and he's already looking impressive. At 6'9" he's a commanding presence on the mound, has a dominant fastball, and if he can stay healthy (despite past shoulder issues which caused him to drop on boards), he will rocket up prospect rankings and could be very special one day. He's looked very good in his early stages of pro ball. -Jaden Fauske and William Bergolla Jr. are both going to be Top 100 prospects before long, and for good reason. Let's break down why for each: 1. Fauske is like Teel, a Catcher with insane athleticism for the position, but they're developing him in the OF to optimize his range and bat. He's got good speed for his size, plays plus defense at multiple positions, and pretty good pop. If he can cut his chase rate, he'll be a top prospect before long and may force his way up the chain to Chicago where the OF depth is very poor. 2. Bergolla, meanwhile, is like the next Luis Arraez but a much better runner and defender. He'll be lucky to 5 HR a year, but he is almost impossible to strike out. He's also lightning fast, steals bases at an elite clip, and smoothly transitioned from 2B to SS, showing intelligence, range, and adaptability. He could likely make the switch to 3B and the OF too. He's already hitting the lights out in AAA. He might do the same in Chicago before too long if he keeps it up. -The biggest question-mark in the farm system remains George Wolkow. He has struggled early, but he's still only 20 years old. The batting average needs to improve, but if he can put it together at the plate, he will make things very complicated for the future of the Sox. He plays any position in the OF, steal bags extremly well for his size, and he has light-tower power. He needs to get his contact skills in order or he'll just be another Joey Gallo. But he often draws comparisons to Aaron Judge for a reason. Fingers crossed. -Regardless, this is all a great problem to have. The Sox have a logjam of position player talent that will drive up competition and give us incredible trade pieces when the time comes to pounce on a window of contention. Unfortunately guys like Miguel Vargas and Chase Meidroth are likely the odd men out long-term, but they'll be great contributors now and should both command significant interest in the trade market when the time comes. -If only half of the prospects above develop into half of the player they are projected to become, the White Sox roster is going to be deep and loaded in the next 2 years. Shame on Chris Getz and Jerry Reinsdorf for lying to fans' faces by saying they expected a quick turnaround and they NEED to add pitching depth so the bullpen can at least be moderately reliable, but credit where it's due... the farm system is wildly improved. They need to stop making excuses and start spending money in free agency and locking up their core players long-term, but even if they don't bring in outside help... this team could be dangerous. -Let's assume the best and say Munetaka Murakami is extended and Grant Taylor stays on the team. Here is what the roster could look like by the All Star Break in 2028: C Kyle Teel (L) 1B Munetaka Murakami (L) 2B Caleb Bonemer (R) 3B Colson Montgomery (L) SS Billy Carlson (R) RF Braden Montgomery (S) CF Roch Cholowsky (R) LF Sam Antonacci (L) BENCH S Edgar Quero (C/1B/DH) R Luisangel Acuña (Super UTIL) L William Bergolla Jr. (IF UTIL) R Brooks Baldwin (OF UTIL) PITCHERS R Grant Taylor L Noah Schultz L Hagen Smith R Tanner McDougal L Christian Oppor R Shane Smith R Davis Martin -The Bullpen will be impossible to project but you have 7 arms that could all start, a deep, dynamic bench with tons of positional flexibility, and most importantly, an athletic lineup of high-octane players who excel defensively at every position and balance well from both sides of the plate, all with the potential for a truly prodigious offensive output. -It's important to note that all of this projects very highly without yet adding a single free agent or acquisition via trade--which will not be the case. More talent is coming via both means, not to mention whoever else we draft after Cholowsky. Hopefully the new era of Ishbia ownership will usher in some good contract extensions and fearlessness with the free agent market. -The Sox farm is truly one of the best in baseball. Whether that creates pressure at the major league level with a logjam of players or leads to the ability to acquire an elite player or two by trading from our wealth of prospects (i.e. somone like Logan Gilbert for the rotation or maybe a certain brother of that Acuña fella by the name of Ronald), we will have currency regardless.
