The Github Copilot team took months and months to roll out Copilot extensions (which are still in limited rollout I think?), so great to see the progress from a small team

So you can build against JUST the chat participants API (code.visualstudio.com/api/extension-…) and those VS Code extensions can run on the web and in other editors? But throw if they access vscode.workspace* APIs? Is there a separate way to bundle this entry point?

@sqs @mariorod1 The API to support the "build one, build for all" scenario (where your extension works on all editors: VSCode, VS, JetBrains, GitHub.com) is currently limited to Copilot Partners. But definitely heard the feedback if we can open up those docs sooner!

Can anyone find the Copilot Extensions API docs? I just see "Join the Copilot Partner Program and explore opportunities". There's a blog post that covers in-editor VS Code extensions (code.visualstudio.com/api/extension-…) but not web. And is it a closed, Copilot-only platform?

Just found out that a former TA of mine (class was a CS intro for non CS people) is trying to keep one of the big tech companies on the right side of the ethics line. VERY encouraging!
