Back in 2023 I pitched @LAUNCH, @Jason's fund, from a car, drenched in sweat, about to pass out. We raised $100k. They reached out and the only slot that worked was the next morning. I was already on the way to Split, so I just took it from the car. It was insanely hot. No AC, sweating through my shirt, half focused on the call and half trying not to pass out. The call was with @JacqKD and @leblanc_au. Not exactly how I imagined that moment going. We ended up raising $100k from that conversation. I used to think there’s a “right setup” for these things. Proper call, clean deck, feeling prepared. There isn’t. The one that mattered most happened on someone else’s schedule, in the worst possible conditions, while I was just trying not to pass out mid-sentence. You don’t really wait for the moment. You just take the call.

Got these calls at 4am daily, even after emailing them to stop, they kept going. Not sure if they stopped or just blocked all of their numbers. and I didn't sign up or give them my number.

Our competitor just got acquired for over $150M and we're celebrating like it's us! 🚀 One thing I've seen is that when a tech company gets acquired, and its founders leave, it's usually a downturn for the customers. Why? Because without a founder, the mission disappears. Don't get me wrong, the PartnerStack team did a great job, and congrats on the life-changing exit. But at @ToltHQ, we use competitor acquisitions like this as pure motivation to keep providing the best possible experience for our current and potential customers. Although I wouldn't mind a $150M acquisition myself 🤷‍♂️
