@Spotify smartshuffle is a joke. I have a playlist with 450 songs in it. With smart shuffle I get to hear maybe 20 songs, and then all the suggested music is hair metal or classic rock. Which is fine, but that's maybe 2 percent of my music. So you don't even suggest what I want.
