The delusion of powerlessness is just what it is - delusion. The people that make us cower, what power do they have besides that which we willingly concede ?

This is a fascinating window into the philosophy of (northern) Nigerian politicians and a classical demonstration of Ekeh's "two publics" framework. Where the morality Pantami himself mentions is in reference to the veracity of the govt jobs facilitated and not the morality of influencing public jobs. By his own clear admission, it's immoral to lie but not immoral to corner government jobs for your people. Most Nigerians would agree with him and this is what's exactly wrong with governance in our country.

There is no group like Berom Militia. It is a fabrication by Fulani extremists There is no organized & armed Berom group carrying out any unalivings in Plateau State or any other state in Nigeria When individual farmers and youths in various communities of Plateau State, repel Fulani terrorists from encroaching into their lands and unaliving their people, they are called militia by Fulani extremists If Berom are the problem, and are the people stifling peace in Plateau State, why are the Mwaghavul, Irigwe, Ron, Afizere, & Anaguta people also complaining about Fulani unalivings in Plateau State? Berom people are the present group subject to attacks by Fulani extremists. Prior to now, it was the Atyap people from Southern Kaduna. Elrufai had previously failed in his attempt to mischaracterize the Atyaps whose offense was to defend themselves from extremism. We have seen the script play out the same way before. The singling out of one ethnicity by extremists who are frustrated that the ethnicity has refused to succumb to their attacks has never succeeded The Fulani cannot be having problems with several ethnic groups across the Middle Belt and still keep point accusatory fingers at others without looking inward

Yesterday, 7 people lost their lives despite call for security response which never arrived. The victim/witness report on the incident of terror attack on Barkin Ladi soil, despite warning by the Governor to end terrorism within the state, this village suffered 7 death last night, around 7pm. "You can see the houses of the Fulani from here. They took over the next village called Jong, after killing and sending the people away, now they want to do the same to us." he said. Why can't these people be sent out and the true indigenous people restored back to their ancestral lands???

Allegedly... After Governor's order and warning on bandits killings in Plateau State... Reports coming in THIS NIGHT, Lo-Hala Ropp, under Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau state is being attacked. Security Should Check & Respond ASAP...

Don’t think the job cuts are sustainable. The way I look at it is that AI should help you ship more & faster, not replace people. That said, not being AI savvy makes you unemployable. Social media managers & lawyers should know n8n not just ChatGPT. AI is the new Microsoft word.

Every time civilians cry out about the military failing to protect them from terror attacks, the response is the same shameful raid on the very communities terrorists are terrorizing. Instead of confronting the attackers, soldiers arrest and disarm residents seizing the crude, handcrafted tools families use to buy women, children, and the elderly precious seconds to escape. Meanwhile, terrorists walk away untouched. Assault rifles and sniper rifles are still in hand. I truly fear the day citizens decide they've had enough of this cowardly harassment and damn the consequences. These so-called soldiers (possibly of the caliphate) shielding terrorists seem to forget: they have civilian friends and family too. They also forget that every citizen they harass has at least one loved one in uniform.

❗️❗️⚠️⚠️ It’s easy to sit behind a screen and say we on the PLATEAU don’t defend ourselves. But let me tell you the real pain we carry every single day. We are not cowards. We are not helpless. But how can you defend yourself when the ones meant to protect you can’t even protect their own soldiers? @HQNigerianArmy, let’s be honest: if you don’t have enough weapons and firepower to keep your own men safe, how on earth will you protect millions of civilians scattered across villages, hills, and farmlands? So what do we do? Sit and wait? Some of us take the risk. We find ways. We make local guns just to have a chance, just to scare off killers coming at night. And what happens? You arrest us. You parade us like criminals. You point cameras at us, but you never give us the mic. You never ask, “Why did you make this?” You never let the world hear our fear. Yes, I know the law. Unlicensed arms are illegal. I’m not arguing that. But here’s my question and I really want you to think about it: If you can’t protect us, and we can’t afford to buy legal guns… what exactly are we supposed to do? Fold our hands and die? I’m not promoting lawlessness. I’m promoting survival. And until you sit where we sit hearing gunshots like lullabies don’t you dare call us criminals. Plateau bleeds daily. But we are not silent. We are just tired. And desperate people do desperate things. Now, tell me what YOU would do if it were your family? Let’s talk. 👇

This guy is wearing the uniform of the Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria(PROHAN) . He is definitely a hunter. But trust d Nigerian Army now, they have to do this to score cheap points and show the world that they are fighting terrorism Infacts! The Army are killing us
plateau_first_son🦅🐦🦜🕊️@JangwokMan9070

How can they arrest a guy for protecting his house like a militia? Meanwhile, the guns the Fulani are using in Plateau are more advanced, and they’re firing live rounds, not blanks or cartridges that don’t kill.

UPDATE ON THE SECURITY SITUATION IN BARKIN LADI TOWN - 10TH MAY, 2026. The Berom Youth Moulders-Association under the leadership of Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri wishes to provide an update on the worsening security situation in Barkin Ladi town following the coordinated attacks carried out by heavily armed fulani terrorists on several communities within the area on Saturday. As at 1:00am today, no fewer than seven corpses, including that of a Police officer, have been recovered and deposited at the mortuary, while six other persons who sustained varying degrees of injuries are currently receiving medical attention. The attacks, which occurred simultaneously in areas including Sabon Layi, Rakung, Gangare, and the General Hospital area (Zat and Bet), have once again exposed the helplessness of residents despite the heavy presence of security checkpoints and personnel across Barkin Ladi town. The Association maintains its earlier Vote of No Confidence passed on the Sector 4 Commander of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), Col. Victor Asuquo, and the Operations Officer, Captain Bello, over what has become a consistent pattern of security failure, negligence, and inability to protect lives and property within their jurisdiction. It is deeply disturbing that communities continue to come under coordinated attacks in broad daylight and at night without any swift or effective response from security operatives. Residents now live in constant fear, uncertainty, and trauma while armed attackers move freely across communities unleashing terror on innocent civilians. The Berom Youth Moulders-Association also raises serious concern over the response of the Plateau State Government to the recurring humanitarian crisis caused by these attacks. Since insecurity has become a perennial challenge in Plateau State, the Association questions why the government has not considered establishing a full Ministry of Homeland Security and Humanitarian Services to coordinate proactive security policies, emergency response, and support for affected communities. Equally troubling is the apparent absence of meaningful intervention from the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency in communities attacked by terrorists where lives have been lost and farmlands destroyed. The Association notes with sadness that in many of these attacks, traumatised community members are left alone to evacuate corpses without any emergency support from government agencies. A situation where dead bodies are wrapped in local wrappers and carried with bare hands for burial by grieving residents not only poses serious public health risks but also reflects gross irresponsibility and failure in emergency humanitarian response by the government. The people of Plateau state deserve protection, dignity, and immediate humanitarian intervention. Government must rise beyond condolences and demonstrate genuine commitment towards securing lives and supporting communities devastated by these persistent attacks. Signed: Rwang Tengwong National Publicity Secretary Berom Youth Moulders-Association 10th May, 2026.
