Its been awhile since I found some inspiration and more importantly time/energy to do any creative side project. But recently found some inspiration to dive deeper into more traditional roguelikes and proc gen stuff. Starting this thread so I don’t give up on it :)

@Drututt I believe in our teams capability of getting the balance right over time. Things that push the boundaries and are truly exciting for players will sometimes come out not perfectly balanced. It is the price of innovation that we need to accept imo :)

Season 16 is gonna be the best league season of all time. - Every role will have a way to carry the game - Autofill tweaks, no lp loss/double lp and matching fills on both teams - Duo in APEX tiers - Lots of content Just 5 days left, i wake up shaking everyday just waiting for it

@truffle @ClaudeCode Haha cool….would love to read a breakdown if you ever get to it. Haven’t dove into skills too much. Mostly been using it for things like shaders, refactoring algorithms/code etc. I’ve found if your game data is text based, it is pretty good at parsing/extending it.

@DannyLimanseta Highly recommend Godot too. Found it works very well with Claude due to the language being pretty easy to parse and being open source works well for it too!

I think I might have discovered the best 2D game engine for vibe coding games. For the past few weeks, I have been making a lovecraftian fishing game with peaceful day time fishing and intense night time combat where you fend off mutated sea creatures. And I've been using Love2D game engine for this. Love2D game engine runs on LUA, which is a compact (token-friendly) programming language that many models (GPT5, Grok Code and Sonnet) are pretty good at. I'm considering to set up a Patreon where I'll share more in depth content (devlogs, prompts, advice, tips etc) where I'll share my learnings as I vibe code an indie game from scratch. If you're interested in this, please let me know in the replies. Trying to gauge interest on this!

6 years ago I had the idea to use AI to let players build their own worlds and tell their own stories. 4 years ago I told Riot I was leaving to try to make it real. Today the amazing team I work with announced Liminal: Skies. Check out our first trailer, and wishlist now!

TLDR - I’m not a fan of the Llm part of it where it benefits from stealing art/creative concepts especially when that becomes commercial. I am excited for its potential in tool/developer velocity, speeding up iterating/finding the fun and higher fidelity pitches for ideas

Took awhile but I finally installed Claude code and it’s the biggest jump in programming accessibility and innovation I have felt in decades. Between chat gpt/copilot and this, have been solving code and math problems that i had thought were beyond my skillset at such a fast rate
