I was removed from City Council for questioning rising taxes—and my mic was cut. Under “Kangaroo Johnson”, comments get shut down instead of addressed. Philly residents deserve answers, not silence. Time for accountability.

There is no accountability to residents, Philadelphians and taxpayers. Funding is not the problem. Democrat policies are.

Our @PHLschools face a $300 million structural deficit. Without help, 340 school jobs — teachers, counselors, climate staff that help keep schools safe - will be eliminated. As Mayor, I cannot stand by and let that happen. That is why I’m proposing a $1 per ride rideshare tax to generate $48 million a year for our schools and students. Coupled with a small Use & Occupancy levy on cell towers, my plan would raise $50.4 million a year for schools. Don’t believe the ads. The rideshare companies can choose to pay this tax and not pass it on to riders. Our kids are worth it!
