Doctors going on strike doesn't really sit well with me; Even if their reasons are justifiable, what happens to patients or incoming victims? Especially in a country where we are so short-staffed and with so many quacks all over the place. Where do patients go while the strike in ongoing?
It's also more upsetting knowing full well that many doctors have their own private hospitals, clinics, and establishment that keeps running while the strike is ongoing.
The govt is without a doubt an epic failure on all counts, but medical practitioners need to find a better solution than going on strikes. People's survival depend on their services, and private is unaffordable at this point.

Truely everything is not iphone but we dey invest so much energy on meaningless things. Whether it's iPhone or Samsung S or Z fold, 3-5yrs from now those phones will be old dirty stuffs. More annoying is the fact that 90% of users only use it for call, text and social media and nothing else.

So here's what I've heard.
1. MDCN pays 267k and expect your salary middle of following month
2. Most federal centers use HOs as nurses, you'll be the one to give IV drugs.
3. Federal centers are the highest volume centers so they're still solid.
As for state centers, they vary in terms of pay, some pay even higher than federal for instance Lagos, ekiti, Kogi and akwa ibom.
Some still pay below 200k, so do your findings.
However, getting into somes state centers can be political and time based, as they don't all recruit all the time.
About hands on, you best bet is in the busy state centres lacking manpower. You won't get hands on when your registrar is struggling.
Either way, HJ is just one year. Do it and move on.

I work in a general hospital.
A fairly standard one as per Nigeria standards.
Most of the equipment in the theater, scanning room, the maternity complex itself and multiple solar systems are donated by indigenes and NGOs.
Now, the hospital is severely short staffed but the government will rather swallow glass than to employ more staff.
But when patients come and there's delays in accessing healthcare, they'll conclude that doctors and nurses are wicked demons who lack empathy.
We'd all be alright one day.
