The Government’s Science, Research and Innovation Budget tables reveal that Gov't investment in R&D is at the lowest on record at 0.49% (as a percentage of GDP). In February, Australia’s leading scientists urged the government to commit to a ‘bold & ambitious’ structural reform agenda for science, including formally adopting a target of 3% of GDP invested in R&D.
