Anyone else suffering with hay fever at the moment? Even though I take strong, prescription only antihistamines, I’ve done nothing but sneeze, blow my nose & swear at my itchy eyes today.

@nsandihelp You need more staff to answer telephone calls. It is unacceptable to expect someone to wait 45 minutes on hold. No one is buying “we are unusually busy” . . .

Our online service is now back to normal 👍 The service was temporarily unavailable while our technical teams worked on the issue. Thank you for being so patient with us on this busy morning. We’re really sorry if we caused you any inconvenience.

Once it becomes acceptable in the UK to imprison people without any court process, knowing that some of them are not only innocent of any crime but are fleeing persecution, where will it end?

Lord Woolf interview in the Times: ‘The present strike over criminal legal aid fees was another downgrading of the justice system, he said. The squeeze on fees was “incapable of justification” and resulted in “good people being driven away”.’ thetimes.co.uk/article/lord-w…

@CrimeLineLaw At Crown Square today a senior judge refused to extend CTLs for a D charged with multiple rapes. Conceded CPS had acted diligently/expeditiously but absence of counsel due to Bar action and no trial date in a reasonable time meant there was not good and sufficient cause to extend

At Bristol CC today, HHJ Blair QC has rejected another CTL extension. It was accepted the Crown had acted with all due diligence, but the issues at the bar were down to funding. It was not proper to extend. CJS is united. @TheCriminalBar @Haroon_Siddique @BBCDomC

Yesterday, new Justice Minister @Dines4Dales wrote to the @TheCriminalBar to say that she believes junior criminal barristers earning below minimum wage have “a good deal” and should “come back to work”. This government is burning criminal justice to the ground.

This is a lie. 81.5% voted for this action. There is no “15% pay rise” on offer. There is no “£7,000 more a year”. Junior criminal barristers will remain on less than minimum wage. Read the truth here: twitter.com/barristersecre…
