It’s past time we @FreeDennisCoyle and bring him home. His sisters, one of whom is a proud Texan, are fighting to rescue their brother from the Taliban in Afghanistan. I was glad to see @SecRubio designate Afghanistan as a State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention & will continue working with him and @POTUS to bring all American hostages home.
Today, I am designating Afghanistan as a State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention. The Taliban continue to use terrorist tactics to seek policy concessions, but it won’t work under this administration. The Taliban must release Dennis Coyle, Mahmood Habibi, and all Americans unjustly detained in Afghanistan.
The United States will no longer tolerate any nation holding 🇺🇸s. Afghanistan currently holds three innocent Americans. It is time to release them. Or don’t and test @POTUS @SecRubio @SebGorka and become the next Venezuela / Iran. Good luck with that.

We watched the clear action of @realdonaldtrump to bring hostages home from Gaza, Venezuela and around the world. We have complete confidence in his team @SecRubio @SebGorka @aboehler to bring Dennis Coyle home. We will be in DC March 9-10 to share our confidence in person!
Today I designated Iran as a State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention. For decades the Iranian regime has cruelly detained innocent Americans and citizens of other nations to use as political leverage. Iran must end this abhorrent practice and immediately free all unjustly detained Americans.
We are witnessing the end of hostage diplomacy. @realDonaldTrump @SecRubio have made it clear: if you hold Americans hostage there will be hell to pay. President Trump has brought 175 people home since inauguration and he won’t stop until every single American is free.
