Guys, I’m an idiot. All this time I’ve spent trying not to die, I had toxic turf in my backyard. Artificial turf contains crumb rubber infill made from recycled tires, which leaches chemicals including PFAS, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are linked to hormone disruption, carcinogenicity, and systemic inflammation. I don’t know how I missed it. It makes me question my basic competence in life. What gets me is that I try so hard to survey the world of potential idiocy. Then I find out there’s a monument to idiocy sitting right in front of my face that I was blind to. I’m removing the turf, yet I’m still stuck with this seemingly unsolvable problem of how to not be an idiot.

@jason_howerton Commendable. Except the part where you get a “high” from your son making the other kids pray. Forcing your theology on others is not very Christian.

I assume you asked genuinely, so I’ll answer genuinely. I live in the country, but I’m certainly part of the demographic that you might see as “boring” like this. Here’s my Friday: I wake to the shouts and giggles of two little boys. Get some hugs and some coffee, now it’s time to make money. At about 1pm my sons busted into my office and asked me if I’d take them to play golf. I said yes because I’ve built a life in which I can. When we get home, I finish work. Later, we have dinner as a family (chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, it was 🔥). My sons ranked their days on a scale from 1-10 like we do and they said today was a “10.” Whatever high yall city folk get from “going out,” I got it from that. Then I played basketball with my sons. We watched a little TV on the couch together. Now it’s bath time, bed time, Bible and prayers. As my oldest closed his eyes, he told me how he makes his friends pray before they eat lunch. I felt that “high” again. Kids are asleep. So now it’s time for mom and dad to do some fun things that married people do. This is my Friday night. And I’ll be absolutely WIPED by 10pm - it was a full day. And while it might sound insane to you right now, I wouldn’t trade places with any person on Earth. I have what men search for all their lives; what men would sacrifice everything to have. Some have lost it chasing the things you’re suggesting I’m missing out on. I mean this with all the love in the world. I’m not defensive. But I know with certainty, what you find rewarding will change the instant you are holding your first child in your arms. And I’m so excited for you to experience it one day. Good luck out there. Sincerely, A boring dad

How do people in the suburbs genuinely look forward to Friday night on the couch, Saturday morning at Costco, and call that a weekend? Like you really moved out of the city just to LARP as your parents at 34?

Got pitched $15k upfront for a personal marketing service yesterday by a broccoli hair. One lump sum. No milestones. No recourse. I said: "Split it across 3 months. If you do good work, you get paid in full. If you're useless, I cut my losses at $5k." His response: "You've got the wrong mindset. You're thinking about it in terms of money." I'm thinking about it in terms of risk. That's literally what capital allocation is. If you genuinely believe your service is worth $15k, you should have zero problem earning it over 3 months. The only reason to demand it all upfront is because you know retention is a problem. He told me we weren't a good fit. I agree. I'm not a good fit for people who can't answer the question "what happens if you're not good at your job?"

Weekends don’t exist once you’re in the burbs because kids dominate. It’s just time. Days don’t matter. However, 35 year olds who still live in the city, getting hammered at bars are just as confusing. Not that it doesn’t sound like fun, but your friends aren’t at the bar with you, they’re in the burbs at soccer practice, with me. So who are you getting hammered with?

@RichardHeartWin Too valuable to just scroll past, but honestly one of those shoutouts that leaves you speechless. Truly grateful, and you can count on us to keep building for Pulsechain. We’re even pushing routing way further before the year ends. 🥰🥰

PulseX v1.1.4 is out now & offers better rates for many things by routing through the ProveX liquidity. PRVX is added in the defaults Shout out to piteas.io for showing that PulseX could improve its routing logic to give better rates, by going through ProveX pairs. Beware that searching piteas in some search engines gives a drainer (bad) as the first result. Also a price chart has been added to ProveX.com

@SecWar Jesus Christ is in charge, Pete. Not you. Anthropic doesn't want you turning the earth into a slave race with their product. Maybe the worthless government could have created their own AI if everything you did wasn't a waste.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
This week, Anthropic delivered a master class in arrogance and betrayal as well as a textbook case of how not to do business with the United States Government or the Pentagon. Our position has never wavered and will never waver: the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic. Instead, @AnthropicAI and its CEO @DarioAmodei, have chosen duplicity. Cloaked in the sanctimonious rhetoric of “effective altruism,” they have attempted to strong-arm the United States military into submission - a cowardly act of corporate virtue-signaling that places Silicon Valley ideology above American lives. The Terms of Service of Anthropic’s defective altruism will never outweigh the safety, the readiness, or the lives of American troops on the battlefield. Their true objective is unmistakable: to seize veto power over the operational decisions of the United States military. That is unacceptable. As President Trump stated on Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief and the American people alone will determine the destiny of our armed forces, not unelected tech executives. Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces and the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered. In conjunction with the President's directive for the Federal Government to cease all use of Anthropic's technology, I am directing the Department of War to designate Anthropic a Supply-Chain Risk to National Security. Effective immediately, no contractor, supplier, or partner that does business with the United States military may conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic. Anthropic will continue to provide the Department of War its services for a period of no more than six months to allow for a seamless transition to a better and more patriotic service. America’s warfighters will never be held hostage by the ideological whims of Big Tech. This decision is final.

News flash, @RichardHeartWin is now getting less than 900 likes per post consistently, which means his community is losing faith in him. This is proof that nobody cares about what he has to say, they care about green candles. If these numbers cut in half again, he will have to combat that with green candles in order to remain relative in the crypto space. This is a what have you done for me lately industry. Videos would boost his content to new followers, that would replace those who don't care anymore.

I got bad news for yall. Because your fellow citizens ain't too smart, you're never ever going to have privacy again. Everyone uses someone megacorp's computer (cloud) instead of their own. They install cameras facing out their front doors that are all networked to the megacorp and using AI to search for things. Today its lost dogs, and well, tomorrow it will be, perhaps you. All of you idiots who use gmail, or gave away all of your personal data to megacorps out of laziness or cowardess violated the privacy of everyone you've ever communicated with, and AI will be used to violate all of them to one degree or another. Because you are lazy. AI will get cheaper and cheaper and it will be pointed at every piece of video, every piece of data ever collected, and it will be used to profit those who have access to that data, the megacorps. To your detriment. Take control of your data. Not your keys not your coins. Not your encryption password, not your data. Not your physical possession, not your data. gmail has everyone's email, not because everyone signed up for it, but because half yall did. Back up your shit and delete it from their servers or get violated...
