OH: "What a disaster, the full process is cumbersome and ridiculous. A lot of users will switch to iOS 😞 and I honestly can't blame them."
Switch to iOS or @grapheneos.

For nearly 30 years, journalists have relied on the Internet Archive to see how stories were originally published, before edits, removals, or changes. We need to safeguard that. eff.org/deeplinks/2026…

The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green has spearheaded the adtech giant's newly combative communications strategy, throwing rhetorical punches at the media, Wall Street, Amazon, and Madison Avenue. And he's teased that there's more to come.

NEW: VIPs & regular people are losing their @signalapp accounts to a clever deception.
I've made a little graphic of how the attack works.
Here's how to protect yourself1/

Lukasz Olejnik@lukOlejnik
Ex-BND (German Foreign Intelligence Service) deputy chief Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven received a message from fake Signal “support” asking for his PIN. He typed it in. His contacts then got a malicious link through his hijacked account. He’s a former NATO intelligence chief, and the author of a book called Putin’s Attack on Germany, where he apparently covers Russian cyberattacks. He fell for a fake customer service message.

@Moe_rants it's not their fault; this happens even when fcaps are set properly

@HatesAdtech @EricTilbury_RTB @DustinCha_ they beat around the bush or insist that is is already being enforced and that I'm smoking something
English

@EricTilbury_RTB @acfou @DustinCha_ Dude this shouldn’t happen. What do they say the explanation is?

I urge you all, please, to regularly pull reports using ads.txt and sellers.json. You should absolutely know what percentage of your buy is authorized direct versus unauthorized versus reseller, and exactly who is selling you what. If you do have unauthorized or even reseller purchasing going on, you should know exactly why you are buying that. Blindly buying unauthorized and reseller inventory will burn your budget.
Not enough people say this often enough. I love this industry, and I want to see it thrive. It only thrives with trust, and that trust comes with better performance, and that better performance comes with better buying habits. Please, hear me out.
English

I don’t have to educate anyone on this thread, just for anyone reading this thread. Some PMPs straight from publishers themselves (not an ssp salesperson) will come through as unauthorized, if you have a hard block on authorized direct you’ll miss out on that inventory. That’s why sellers.json is such a good tool to validate who’s selling you what. It’s also a good reason to manage your own QPS where you can make exceptions for those PMPs and have the hammer of authorized direct on others. Knowing when to filter and when to allow is such a good thing.

@HatesAdtech @EricTilbury_RTB @DustinCha_ you'd think, right? actual practice shows otherwise and massive numbers of new AI slop sites are seen in the data today (they wouldn't get in if parties enforced ads.txt properly)
English

@acfou @EricTilbury_RTB @DustinCha_ I mean here’s the thing — the override could potentially exist for reasons, but like, it should be hard. It should be like when you’re on a website without an ssl cert
English

@aripap I dont know why you don't name the name. Pesach Lattin was previously kicked off of Linkedin for harassment, and he just started up new accounts and continued.

@HatesAdtech @EricTilbury_RTB @DustinCha_ and letting them thru and transacting on it too
did you know the buyer has to check "enforce ads.txt" checkbox on Xandr otherwise it doesn't get enforced, even though "they have ads.txt"
English

@EricTilbury_RTB and to pre-empt all the bros who are going to claim ads.txt solves this. I dare you to actually read this.
Why did ads.txt fail - linkedin.com/pulse/few-bad-…

@EricTilbury_RTB if you don't do what Eric said, you're exposing yourself to 10 - 40X more unpermissioned (fake) bid requests than real ones linkedin.com/pulse/even-whe…
