@PeterZeihan Putin is choosing to slowly choke Russia rather than quickly falling on his own sword. Either way he and Russian don't exit this war better - reputation, economy and military damaged. They gain "friends" in Iran and NK, part servitude to China, and no control of Ukraine.

Ukraine's advanced drone tech has enabled it to reliably target and strike Russia's energy infrastructure. This is throwing off Russian logistics entirely. Entire analysis available exclusively for Analyst Tier members on Patreon ➡️ bit.ly/4wcJj7O #russiaukrainewar

@AvidCommentator The most likely adversary which could lead to a hot war involving Australia could also get choked of oil supply - Australia's alliances have a say in the event of war too. The adversary will have strategic reserves but that doesn't last forever, and the supply are mostly by sea

Its kind of crazy to think that if Australia faced a full blown hot war with our fuel shipments being targeted or seized from the start of the war with Iran, we would have run out of jet fuel and diesel by now without rationing. Wild to think how absolutely screwed we would be.

@TrentTelenko What interests me is the video has the watermark of wuhan_solo, the city referenced just seems removed from an audience who would care about such a topic

@AvidCommentator Wow that's pretty cool, because every home I. Australia has just gone up by about the same amount as the cost of the mortgage insurance. It's a pretty direct QE

📅 Mark your calendars. From October, you'll only need a 5% deposit to buy your first home. Too many people feel the dream of home ownership is out of reach. So Labor's making it easier. It'll cut years off the time it takes to save for a deposit - and you won’t need to pay a single dollar in mortgage insurance. The housing challenge won’t be solved overnight, but we’re making real progress.

@FRHoffmann1 A countervalue strike targets civilian areas, cities, or economic infrastructure to disrupt society and economy, unlike counterforce strikes aimed at military targets. It's controversial, often seen as escalatory and potentially illegal under international law, like the Geneva Conventions. Recent Iranian missile strikes on Tel Aviv (June 13, 2025) appear to fit this, hitting civilian zones. Views split: some see it as deterrence, others as immoral. Intent and impact remain debated, complicating its classification.

@ben_nexhip @tax_oz @ausstockchick I agree, I think most people value other things, such as family, friends, honour, integrity etc more than money. The main thing is almost everyone agrees that not having to worry about money would allow one to focus on more of the other things they value

@tax_oz @aclyeh @ausstockchick That’s true, but some people value other things over money. Rightly or wrongly. I think it’s something you’re taught as a kid, hard to change those values as an adult.

When I explain to people that the average person is on a hamster wheel I get strange reactions. So many people right now have the Sunday blues because they are going to a job they hate tomorrow. It’s like people want to live in denial… #ausbiz #ausvotes

@ben_nexhip @ausstockchick I think she's suggesting to learn how to invest because that creates alternative or passive streams of income. This provides the choice to be free from the need for regular employment

@LocantroTony Can you tell us how you order it since it's not a standard menu item? Do you just go up to the counter and ask for beef pattie?

#carnivorediet (Perth Aus) Recently charged $3.20 for a 4-1 pattie at McDonalds, whilst Hungry Jack's remain at $2.45 for the 5 inch. Although I prefer the 4-1 taste wise, the price hike was surprising. It's not the perfect option, but when out and about it does the job.

@ausstockchick I think the madness isn't that Boomers are worth more than Millennials, but that the Boomers can become rich almost by default (single income, buy house, wait 35 years, sell for 5-20x, job done), whereas Millennials have to be deliberate and tactical

Boomers own 54% of all dwellings in Australia, while making up just 26% of households. Boomer households are worth over $1 million, while Millennials sit just above $500,000. It’s expected given the huge age difference. Why is everyone so mad at Boomers? #ausbiz #auspol
