Today I am publishing chapter three of my 150k small business website report, focused on #WordPress: - Using WP Rocket correlates with a 20% boost in Google rankings - Cloudflare has zero impact on speed - Each WP plugin knocks 3.2 points off PageSpeed freshchalk.com/blog/150k-smal…

@mitchellh I agree, and I think Zig has a bit of a problem here in that many basic libraries do not yet exist. I tried to bring this up on ziggit but the community was, uh, not receptive to put it mildly.

@ylecun For the love of God please invest some of that cash in a decent domain name. "Amilabs.xyz, once said, never forgotten."

@mitchellh Perhaps untrusted PRs could include a signature from the LLM indicating how many tokens were used to create the PR. No signature? Ignore. Small number of tokens? Ignore.

The biggest issue with the Codex app is how easy it is to create a PR. The automatic "open a PR" feature of agentic programming in general (not just Codex) is creating an insane amount of burden on open source (see 3 slopfests closed today in Ghostty's repo). Please, stop this.

I've been a @Namecheap customer for ~20 years. Why is it that every time I have to deal with them they suck so very badly? Because I purchased a premium domain from them, they locked my *entire account* without warning. That's literally what happened.

My 2023 domain sales by venue - 63% direct, 13% sedo, 24% afternic. Afternic (owned by GoDaddy) charges 25% commission, which is borderline evil. Maybe I should turn them off? Buggy, bad, and expensive.

@defrag_fable Fantastic news. We adopted standardrb/rubocop recently, but we are very open to alternatives. Especially when they are FAST! Definitely scared off by the lack of commits and scary "this doesn't work" at the top of the rubyfmt readme.

100% of Stripe's Ruby codebase, which is the largest single Ruby codebase in the world, is now autoformatted with Rubyfmt. We'll be upstreaming the changes we made soon. I'm very excited.

Very much a WIP, but here is a lang server that refreshes the Rails app every time you save your buffer. It also communicates errors back to the editor

@GustoHQ has gotten really bad. They shut off my health insurance accidentally and can't figure out how to turn it back on. Frantic pleas for help are routed overseas to a support team that can't do anything.

@EliseoJJuarez I can't support a map that splits Magnolia. Like other neighborhoods, Magnolia needs representation on the council. This goes directly against rule (2) of your own process.

investors: any founder ever successfully argue their way into a check from you during your pass explanation? bonus points if they were combative.

@adamloving Fellow luddite reporting in. I too prefer wired headphones... Who has time to charge, pair, etc. It's annoying enough getting my phone to talk to my car.

I bought these "Wired Headphones" to avoid pairing problems, lag, etc. When I plugged them into my iPhone, they prompted me to pair with Bluetooth (cable is only for charging). amazon.com/gp/product/B08…

@randfish @ryanwright There's a reason Seattle voted to toss their private water company... one month after the Great Seattle Fire if 1889. In today's dollars the losses from that fire totaled ~600mm.

My sister is helping my parents move. She asked if I want any of this stuff. I definitely do, but know that I’ll never get around to using it 😩

@peterc I think you have to format so it takes up multiple lines. Maybe prettier is doing that for me? Then you can fold the sections.

@adamdoppelt Do you have an extension added for this? Mine doesn't work that way by default. With that said, I am sure there's an extension I should probably install that would make it all nice, though I am a terminal dweller at heart! 😄

Working with JSON a lot lately. I love `jq` for querying JSON, but what about exploring it tree-style? fx – fx.wtf – does the trick! See my quick demo here.
