Been in America for 14 year, i just had my first antisemitism moment.
I was watching the kids playing, and a random guy was making a chat. I was chatting back, nothing special till that point. We all do it all the time.
He then went on to say he is so upset the Jews having too much real estate, and “they will get what they deserve by Hamas”.
I didn’t see it coming, and for some reason he missed my Israeli accent….
As he finished his hate speech, i responded with two words - “I’m Jewish”.
He was getting immediately aggressive, and my wife who was there said “dude, we are w our kids, move on”. She is cool like that. He did.
Later that night, I was thinking, yes he was hating on me - not knowing me, but I’m the lucky one. I feel thankful. I have light around me, family, friends, purpose. And this guy - hate and anger lead him.
If you ever watched StarWars, you know hate makes powerful Jedi to become Sith.
I’m Jewish. Two words.
Light always wins.
I’m the lucky guy 💙
