If Lidar sees geometry, the camera sees colours, not semantics as well. The expression "technical debt" makes no sense. You are well articulated but not convincing unfortunately. Lidar comes in where video is not enough, and there are plenty of real usecases. It is true that the algorithm is more complicated and at some point it deals with conflicting data but this is what a healthy system built in input redundancy should look like. Also, arguing about aesthetics when deciding to remove lidar is not an engineering mindset. In time, lidar will show its benefits and it will be adopted again. All I hear is "the algorithm is hard and the device makes the car ugly".

Ils finiront pareil. Never bet against end-to-end. Never bet against la simplicité. Never bet against Elon.

Those politicians who feel like speaking people's mins accomplish a few functions and 3 of them are the most important: 1- a release valve for the public 2-the illusion that if they speak, this is the beginning of the right course of action which numbs the public's initiative and 3-they make or develop their public visibility or prime themselves as they are supposed to become the next in line as political leaders (I don't know this particular guy but I know people like him and I paid attention to their political trajectory and all this feels like a very old pattern).

🚨 WOW! Conor McGregor is surging mobilization to VOTE OUT the current government who has betrayed the people of Ireland — prompting massive protests from farmers, truckers and patriots The people are NOT GIVING UP! 🇺🇸🇮🇪 "This government has LOST the confidence of the public and that is it! No confidence as a government and you are done!" "Their complete failure on housing, their refusal to ease the crushing cost of living crisis, the disastrous handling of immigration that has overwhelmed their communities and services and the shocking way that they have treated ordinary Irish people in recent days." "As a nation we have all just seen their behavior at the exact same time and there is now no going back. The horse has well and truly bolted." "We await the vote that will bring down this failed government that no longer represents us." "Ireland, for the future of our country, for our children, we must stand together in unity and complete this tackle. I love you with all my heart, every single one of you. God bless Ireland." @TheNotoriousMMA

History records also point out that when peasants were unhappy with the taxes they were blocking the roads with carriages for days , putting an end to any trade between cities and villages. The king was worried about starving peasants who couldn't get any penicillin and after 5 days of strong internal moral debate, he would decrease taxation and therefore the king was reelected again. Because of his kindness all peasants would travel a long way to his castle and throw flowers at his chambers for days on end. An amazing view of exuberance and rebirth. All spontaneous and without planning, just pure vibes networking relentlessly through ether.

You will soon see the "everything shortages" with 5x inflation if this continues. I'm not saying people aren't right but the way they act is pure self-sabotage. But sure, everyone is drunk on "now they are scared of us, we take our nation back etc." and replies like this feel unadjusted to people's exuberance. Wrong! I've lived through exactly this several times in a different country. It ends with the illusion of revolt and illusion of a good outcome. The course of action until now feels scripted/ planned.

This fuel price protest is just as wise as those random individuals sitting in the middle of the road, blocking it for whatever reason. It's the idea of harming / impeding something (in the end their own lives actually) in order to be heard. Do this at scale, with cars, and you have a different kind of lockdown. It's funny how irony smiles at us every now and then. All this is happening because people miss a more imaginative perspective on how to make themselves heard yet just as impactful. And as a coincidence, the fuel protest happens soon after the state announced the digital ID voluntary pilot.

If your child becomes a reader, roughly 80% of the educational task is already done. That's my honest assessment after working in education for over thirty years. Everything else is secondary. Most parents believe that science education is important. Yes, it is. But if you can't read your biology textbook, you're not going to learn biology. Reading is the meta-skill that enables all other skills. History requires reading. Science requires reading. Even math increasingly requires reading as it becomes more sophisticated. The child who reads voraciously will grasp everything else. The child who doesn't will struggle with everything.

Those "observations" that I keep seeing from numerous respected researchers & whatnot in regard to our reality being a hologram of some sort smells like "peasants, fear not about death, as it is a mere passing from here to there." The topic is not "this is real and that isn't " , that's beyond the point. Why now convincing people that death is not tragic? What is happening or about to happen?

Thomas Campbell, a physicist and former NASA contractor, says consciousness is the true foundation of reality, not physical matter: "Our Reality Is a Simulation.” He compares the universe to a very advanced virtual reality or video game that began with a “digital Big Bang,” arguing that we are consciousness using human bodies as avatars inside a rule-based simulation built for learning and growth. He says we are “individuated units of consciousness” receiving data streams that create our experience, so the physical world only exists as rendered information when it is observed, similar to game graphics that load only when a player looks at them. In his view, the larger consciousness system is like an intelligent information system that runs the simulation efficiently and consistently so it can function as a kind of school where consciousness evolves by making choices.

It is because of this useless tirade the modern psychology deserves its bad reputation. At a deeper level it explains nothing, while it delivers exactly what a sane, healthy person can infer without effort, in simpler words by sitting quietly (haha, the irony) on a bench in the park.

You may not agree with Professor Jiang. But this particular take is absolutely right, even for those who support the US. THE single biggest hurdle for the US to reindustrialize is the US dollar hegemony, which necessitates the US to be a net-importer, running a trade deficit to provide the world a steady supply of US dollar. If the US gives up on its hegemonic status, they can ease back from the role of the sole global reserve currency. After which they can reindustrialize and move away from the addiction for over-financialized fictitious economy. The biggest winners in that case will be the working class Americans, while the Banking cartels on Wall Street and the elites will suffer. Through their control of the media and politicians, the elites are able to brainwash Americans into advocating against their own interests. Waking up is the first step.

The crowd left unattended will not curate its individuals out to approach the CEO w/ relevant manners . Any idiot with confidence will kill CEO's time with trivialities bc he wants a better salary. The CEO's job is to quietly and dramatically curate the suits that talk to him bc the suits curate the crowd allegedly, balancing company's interests and societal impact . You folks wrote this nonsense post just to find a way to kiss elon's butt that's all. Curation is essentialising your actions, is the TLDR of doing stuff.

IBM built a cloud of suits to make sure the CEO never talked to anyone actually doing the work. @elonmusk does the opposite. "Elon's method is extreme focus on substance. Extreme focus on getting to the truth. In any organization with multiple layers, there's compounding lies. Each layer wants to look good. Each layer puts a little spin on things. If one layer lies to the next layer above it, maybe that's okay. When that happens two or three times, the lies compound. If that happens six times, the lies really compound. If that happens 12 times, the CEO has no idea what's happening. That was IBM. By the time I got there as an intern, I calculated there were 12 layers of management between me and the CEO. They even had a term for it: the great cloud. A cloud of men in gray business suits who followed the CEO around and prevented him from ever talking to anybody who was actually doing the work. When he would come to visit, it was like a visit from the king. A completely impervious bubble. That's the polar opposite of the Elon approach." — @pmarca
