@unclebobmartin Yes, there are a lot of series and authors. The XML scene or the voice synthesizer modem chips story were really funny; science lessons great too.
You have been to cleancoders.com haven't you? The videos there will teach you Clean Code, Clean Architecture, SOLID Principle, Test Driven Development, Design Patterns, and many, many other things.
And...they are fun.
@CoxHelp I get that you guys are working hard to fix the outage, but it’s been almost 6 hours and at least you should have some estimation. This looks like a generic message rather than an update: “Currently, there is no estimated time for when service will be restored.”
A business wants to decide the future of a legacy system. They assign a taskforce to refresh the architecture overview. After a while, the taskforce produces that overview. Some more time passes by until they eventually get together and reach a decision.
What’s the problem?

As a software engineer, would you code something like this ?
@ardalis I would go with researching the unknown first, because it might introduce some dependencies which could be handled in parallel with the other 5 tasks.
You have a feature to implement. It includes 6 tasks. 3 of them you've done before many times; 2 you have other code that does something similar; 1 is totally new and will require research (and might not work at all).
Where do you start? RT for reach.
