“Are you enjoying Quickbooks?” the app asks as I open it. I click on “not really” and it asks if I would like to submit feedback. This is what happens when I try to submit feedback. Absolutely nothing works in iPhone app. @HMRCgovuk @HMRCcustomers @QuickBooksUK @Xero @sageuk @Intuit

@HMRCgovuk @HMRCcustomers @QuickBooksUK @Xero @sageuk @Intuit It’s exactly 4 weeks since I started reporting 15 new bugs to Quickbooks. Today I received the first update from Quickbooks. The app has recently had a new patch update. Can you please delete the app and re download and confirm which of your raised issues are still present and which has been resolved with this. Bear in mind I have now reported 15 bugs, it would have been helpful to know which bugs might have been fixed. Having deleted then re-installed the iPhone app, and re-downloaded our 6 accounts (which takes an hour) I was able to confirm that none of the bugs had been fixed. As per my last post, it’s incredible that no-one at Quickbooks is provided with an iPhone (or emulator) to do their own testing, and the work is outsourced to customers. Meanwhile, our 18 users continue to battle with these bugs on a daily basis with no fix in sight. I continue to copy HMRC in these posts, as this is software thousands of companies are required to use to comply with MTD, and it just doesn’t work!

I didn’t get a response to my last post, but I’ll keep posting in case someone at Quickbooks is interested in helping a customer. It’s 24 days since I first reported bugs to Quickbooks regarding the iPhone App and issues with its new interface. In that time, I’ve not had a single update on any of the 15 x bugs I’ve now reported. These bugs affect 18 users across 4 different companies. On average, it takes about an hour on the phone to report email bug. These are really basic bugs that should be picked up long before software is pushed out to customers. 90% of invoices are missing on the app (they exist in the cloud) but the app only shows max 300 invoices for any period you’re looking at. Search by postcode not working. Add second (or third) email address on invoice broken. Add new customer from invoice broke. It asks for Customer Name only, instead of First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Display Name. Display Name incorrectly appearing on invoices. App crashes 90% of the time switching between Quickbooks accounts. Pop-up alerts for permission errors. User may have to dismiss 5 times whilst creating an invoice. Default Custom Invoice Template sometimes reverting to Quickbooks template. Reference number on receive payment screen missing. Bottom Navigation bar disappears and can only be brought back by force quitting and re-starting the app. Cashflow icon incorrectly appearing on Nav Bar for users who don’t have permission to view cashflow. Payment Terms no longer displayed as Net 7, Net 30. You have to figure out what they’re set to by looking at invoice date & due date and calculate in your head. Not able to edit payments made against an invoice by clicking on the invoice and editing the payment. Etc etc . No-one in support has access to an IPhone or iOS emulator, so you can’t say “do this and you’ll see exactly what I mean”. This is really frustrating and means every call to support takes up to 10 times as long as it should do. @HMRCgovuk @HMRCcustomers @QuickBooksUK @Xero @sageuk @Intuit

@HMRCgovuk @HMRCcustomers @QuickBooksUK @Xero @sageuk @Intuit The Quickbooks iPhone App has been so full of bugs the past couple of years, that some days I lose the will to live. The bug I’m most scared of, is that since 2024 the iPhone App can silently create duplicate transactions (payments, invoices etc) if the internet connection is poor - just like the Post Office Horizon issue. Duplicate transactions are easily prevented with the use of idempotency keys, so this should never happen. Most Quickbooks customers are SME’s and have no idea bugs like this exist or why their accounts don’t add up. Quickbooks have been switching users to a new interface since September 2025. We tried it, but it was full of bugs and reverted to the old interface. Fast forward to today, and all users have been forced to use the new interface. I am reporting multiple bugs on a daily basis, whilst waiting for ones already reported to be fixed. How can $113 billion Intuit ship such sloppy software. Software providers should be legally required to disclose bugs to their customers, especially when it concerns accounting. Duplicate transactions are the bugs I’m most scared of, but in daily use, I open Quickbooks and wonder what they’ve broken today and how many months, or even years, it might take to fix. If anyone at Intuit wants to reach out to help (especially whistleblowers) I’m all ears. Likewise, happy to chat with anyone involved with MTD at HMRC, as the software we all need to use is broken.

We just raised a $9.4M seed round to seize the means of production of software. Turns out, it fits in your pocket. @v_computer (Thread)

@JuneWh3atl3y @QuickBooksUK If you were logged in before it went down, you can still access Quickbooks, but if you timed out / logged out, there’s no way of getting back in until it’s fixed. In short, it’s just the “log in” part that’s down.

@QuickBooksUK It would be helpful if you would update your status page when Quickbooks login goes down worldwide.

@QuickBooksUK We have multiple customers with the same name, but Quickbooks can’t handle it. Bob Smith 1 🤦‍♂️ Also, if we sell to Bob Smith, and want to ship to his friend @sasan_goodarzi why does Bob Smith appear in the ship to? Intuit has USD$ 143.35 billion market cap. Please fix this.

@rjphowarth @lambeth_council Same here. Barley / Foxtail grass seed in dogs ear. Removed by Westside Vets within 90 minutes of leaving Clapham Common , but our dog had to be sedated ear drum ruptured and still infected. No-mow May is fine, but by July it seems the grass dries out and it’s dangerous.

@lambeth_council #claphamcommon Having spent nearly £400 having a grass seed removed from my dog's sinus, it would be great if Lambeth council would finally mow Clapham Common.

@marksubel @GoogleAds @adsliaison And lastly, we’ve tested Local Service Ads, combined with regular Google search. LSA’s are a pain to set up / manage multiple locations (fine if you’re a one man band) and we’re getting very low volumes (5%) by comparison.

@marksubel @GoogleAds @adsliaison We had to change targeting of “keyword + location” searches from whole country, to local area, so you only get to see the ad if you’re in the local area. In our experience, for local service companies, close variant is a nightmare.

Our team is SO tired of @GoogleAds matching keywords to "competitor" searches. ex: assisted living community to smtg like "Rolling Waters Assisted Living". 9x out of 10, they're looking to contact that competitor, not search for a new one. What can we do? #ppcchat @adsliaison

@PSAuthorityUK Who would knowingly pay that to call anyone? At a minimum, all calls to 09 numbers should start with a recording advising the cost of the call, which has to be accepted before the call is connected.

@PSAuthorityUK I’ve just checked, and calling an 09 number can cost up to £6 for the connection (paid to whoever you are calling) + up to £3.60 a minute (paid to whoever you are calling) + up to £0.65 a minute (paid to your phone provider).
