As a frequent global traveler flying in and out of Nigeria, the arrival process at MMIA used to be the one thing that instantly raised my blood pressure. Today, the entire process has been fully digitized. I cleared customs in just 3 minutes, no human interaction, no stress, and no begging from immigration officials. This is a massive win and deserves huge kudos to the PBAT @officialABAT admin! ✈️ One more 🌹 for you @fkeyamo I love good things, you should too! If you have experienced this process, please share.

Rice won’t even be in my top 5 midfielders lmao arsenal fans are in a different world. When we are counting midfielders and not bricklayers, there’s no way rice and zubi will be in my top 5 currently. Zubi used to be good until arteta asked him to be dueling and playing physical. I don’t know if I’m the only one noticing the fact that he play better in Spanish team than in Arsenal and that should tell you everything.

@egi_nupe You've spoken well council however, in the case of LP leadership tussle on Abure, how come INEC didn't show same energy rather choose when it's convenient for them to do the needful?

Learned Silk, INEC simply did the right thing, like it did when the Court of Appeal's status quo ante bellum order was made, "without prompting" and the vilification of INEC for merely "complying with the Court order", was completely out of order. The law is clear, as you have taught us that: Court orders must always be obeyed, even if it is made without jurisdiction or void. It is not in the place of INEC or any party to decide or choose which order to comply with and which one not to comply with. A party, like INEC has always had two options when Court orders are made, to comply (based on presumption of regularity) or appeal against it to have it set aside by the same court or superior Court. I hope those praising INEC today can retract their attacks against INEC and the Chairman, Prof. Amupitan.

I am a legal practitioner. I am not a registered member of any political party in Nigeria. I am equally not an employee of any government. I owe no allegiance to anybody except the truth, justice and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I was the lead counsel to Sen David Mark at the Supreme Court in the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court yesterday. When I checked INEC portal it was clear that INEC without prompting has restored to their portal the leadership of ADC. See INEC portal at:inecnigeria.org/political-part…. For me the restoration of the names of the leadership of ADC on INEC portal as shown on INEC Portal above is the right thing to do. The decision of the Supreme Court yesterday was clear. The appeal of Sen David Mark was allowed in part. The order of the Court of Appeal for "maintainance of status quo ante bellum" was held to have been made without jurisdiction and accordingly set aside. It was the order of the Court of Appeal that INEC said it acted upon when it removed Sen David Mark and his Exco from their portal. INEC as a corporate entity has accorded respect to the decision of the Supreme Court without pretending that it was yet to be served formally with the judgment of the Supreme Court. That is the right thing to do in the circumstances. INEC was represented in the Supreme Court. The prompt restoration of the leadership of ADC to INEC portal is commendable. That is how it should be under the rule of law. Until we agree to be bound by the rule of law and due process and avoid taking the laws into our hands Nigeria developments will be a mirage. INEC in this particular case exhibited rare understanding of respect for the rule of law without waiting to be served with the judgment of the Supreme Court as some institutions and other highly placed Nigerian government officials will always do. Too many in power have no respect for court and courts orders. In most cases impunity reigns supreme in our land. Even within the legal profession courts processes and orders are disregarded for personal benefit and in abuse of power. Today many in privileged positions abused their powers and positions against the people and the society they are meant to serve by disrespecting judgments and orders of courts. Examples are legions. The abuse of power cut across all the strata of the country. Even in the legal profession powers are being abused. The security agencies abused their powers too. Everyone appears to be law unto themselves in this country. On this particular occasion I must commend INEC for their prompt restoration of the leadership of ADC on their portal without waiting for letters from the legal team of Sen David Mark. INEC must do what it needs to do for the good of Nigeria and democracy. INEC must be bold and courageous to attain good success in protecting and safeguarding Nigerian democracy.

Peter Obi is not a true Igbo man. He does not have the spirit of Ndi Igbo in him. He’s not a leader. The true spirit of Ndi Igbo is 'onye aghana nwanne ya'. As you rise you lift others. How can you spend many years in power, many years as a successful business man, yet nobody can say he's successful today because of you. You can't even lift your family members. In Nollywood, there are people who will tell you they’re successful today because of Yul Edochie. Not one person can say that about Peter Obi. Are you a saddist? What are you doing with the power God has given you? If you can't lift people around you out of poverty, you simply can't lift Nigeria out of poverty.

When Borrowing is Leprosy and cancerous. Mr. President, borrowing is not only a leprosy, but a killer cancer when it is borrowed for consumption and not production as it is in Nigeria today. Borrowing for consumption slowly eats away at the health, reputation, and autonomy of a nation. One of the major “leprosy” afflicting Nigeria today is not just debt, but debt without productivity. Debt that is not tied to measurable economic value. Debt that does not translate into jobs, growth, or improved living standards for the Nigerian people. No serious economy borrows recklessly. Nations borrow with discipline, with purpose, and with a clear plan for repayment through productive investment. Fiscal Responsibility Act 2007 provides that “Any government in the Federation or its agencies and corporations desirous of borrowing shall, specify the purpose for which the borrowing is intended and present a cost-benefit analysis, detailing the economic and social benefits of the purpose to which the intended borrowing is to be applied” Cost-benefit analysis must show how the loan would be applied, how it will impact economic growth and improve the welfare of Nigerian citizens in measurable ways. Most of the borrowings by this government do not satisfy the requirements of law or the requirements of economic common sense. The humongous borrowing so far does not show how the projects for the loans enhance the productive capacity of the nation and the welfare of Nigerian citizens. These loans are also dangerous because they burden the capacity of the Nigerian state to improve the economy in the future, as we have one of the world’s highest debt servicing ratios. What matters is not debt-GDP as much as debt-debt servicing ratio because the latter constrains our capacity to finance the sectors that drive human development and economic growth. If the money is wrongly spent as we do in Nigeria currently, it becomes double jeopardy because you are using current revenue to service debts that did not add to revenue or improve capacity for more production in the future. A responsible government does not merely defend borrowing; it explains it, justifies it, and most importantly, ensures it works for the people. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
