Your Excellency @KagutaMuseveni ,thank you for supporting science. However, R&D funding remains too low in our budget, limiting innovation and cutting-edge research. This needs to improve. Please also implement your commitment on science graduate salaries (UGX >4 million), especially for underpaid NARO Research Technicians. Together with Research Officers, they are central to NARO’s research output.

Today at National Livestock Resources Research Institute in Namulonge, I commissioned Uganda’s first locally developed anti-tick vaccine, NAROVAC-ATV1. This is a lasting solution to tick-borne diseases that have affected our cattle keepers for a long time. The cow now kills the tick. This innovation reduces reliance on toxic acaricides and lowers the cost of livestock production. It is part of Uganda’s movement into science-led transformation. I congratulate our scientists and reaffirm government support to strengthen research for national development.

Which Sovereignty Bill is the rwaari about? The one I initiated in the Cabinet or another one? The Bill will stop FDIs (Foreign Direct Investments), support for religious bodies from abroad, Remittances from Ugandans working abroad, etc., etc. Really!! That is not the Bill I initiated. Below is clarification on what I initiated.
