I put Asha Bhosle in the same category as Sacha Baron Cohen, Jerry Seinfeld, Piyush Pandey, Enid Blyton, Rahul Dravid and JK Rowling. They are/were masters of their craft and I immensely enjoyed their works while their careers flourished. Later, they promoted some of the worst ideologies and bigoted ideas, and I feel less inclined to relive those moments today. The nostalgia is dead. I did not know much about Asha's own support of these divisive ideas till some people like this OP pointed it out after her death.

President Rajendra Prasad; a man who publicly opposed Nehru on the Hindu Code Bill, foreign policy & the President’s constitutional role; awarded it suo motu. Not Nehru’s recommendation. Not Congress’s recommendation. The President’s own initiative. Still upset? Ask why the man who disagreed with Nehru on everything still chose to honour him. 2️⃣ Indira. Bharat Ratna 1971. The year she liberated Bangladesh, split Pakistan in two, and was called “Durga” by Atal Bihari Vajpayee himself on the floor of Parliament. You may hate the politics. History recorded the achievement. 3️⃣ Rajiv. Bharat Ratna 1991. He was blown up by an LTTE suicide bomber on May 21, 1991. His award was posthumous. Dead men don’t nominate themselves. What you’re calling political nepotism was a nation mourning an assassinated ex-PM. Three claims. Three failures. Let’s go further. 4️⃣ Congress chose Ambedkar as India’s first Law Minister. Congress nominated him as Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, the man who literally wrote the supreme law of this land. When Partition redrew provincial boundaries and Ambedkar lost his seat in the Constituent Assembly, it was Congress that got him re-elected from Bombay Province so he could complete the Constitution. Ambedkar championed the Hindu Code Bill; the most radical social reform legislation of its time, granting women property rights, divorce rights, and inheritance rights. Nehru backed it. Ambedkar himself said: “Nehru is the most sincere among all Congressmen on this question.” Who opposed it tooth and nail? The RSS. 🔴 Now the part you really didn’t want anyone to bring up. The RSS Organiser, the Sangh’s own mouthpiece, ran an editorial in 1949 praising Manusmriti and attacking the Constitution for not including it. Golwalkar, in Bunch of Thoughts; the RSS Bible, called the Indian Constitution “foreign” and said it had “nothing of Bharatiya culture in it.” The RSS attacked Ambedkar’s own public pronouncements that the Constitution would give equality to all castes. Their editorial said this was “against the basic ethos” of their movement. The RSS did not hoist the Tricolour at its own headquarters for 52 years after 1950, the very flag Ambedkar’s Constitution was written under. Today, on Babasaheb’s 135th birth anniversary, a propagandist for that same ideological family is using Ambedkar’s name to attack Congress. The organisation that called his Constitution “foreign.” The organisation that opposed every social reform he fought for. The organisation that didn’t respect the flag of the republic he built. That’s not honouring Ambedkar. That’s looting his legacy on his own birthday. 🤫👎

Ravan never kidnapped Sita , it was Chaya Sita that Ravan took . Sita Mata was already given to Agnidev for protection . That purity thing by fire was totally made up to defame Hinduism . It was the real Sita that came out of the fire that Lord Rama gave to Agnidev in the end of war with Ravaana Read Valmiki Ramayana

@agaltet @bornauthority They did. Their days of ruling, & conquering were gone & they became like governors nothing more. Indus is a name based on a river NOT on some country. The East india Company had 'india', a romanized name given to a geographical entity & NOT for a country.

Everyone needs to remember this history. Name & historical region Maharashtra is as old as region Aryavarta (shy by 1.5 centuries at max). GoI giving us statehood in 1960, doesn't define us. Be proud of your identity, it predates "India".

@agaltet @bornauthority Because the British created india in 1858 after they had ended all the kingdoms, and then that india demanded self-rule. And hence there was NO india before the French Revolution of 1789, or freedom in 1947 to be precise. The breakup of the USSR was better for many of its states.

@agaltet Nope that's misinformation. Older Marathi texts including Hoysala inscriptions are in Devnagari, not in Modi. Modi was created in medieval India.

@bornauthority And too add Nagri script is different from Devnagri. It's mother script to both Devnagri & Nandinnagri (used in India's south) and eventually Modi But question still remains why Marathi stopped using Modi. Old Marathi was written in Modi not in Devnagri.

@agaltet See the family scripts of both Gujarati & Modi. Both are derived from the same family. Modi was invention during medieval India, script of Marathi before that was always Nagari & maybe Guptas are to be credited for it. Do you want an award?

@bornauthority No I don't want an award, i believe devnagri is as indian as Modi, and hindi is as indian as Marathi. And all languages adopt, like today's Marathi is influenced a lot by Faarsi. That's how language evolve. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra.
