@nowoolovreyz @CP24 He met with the auto industry only, none of the administration so anything they would have suggested is useless. In addition Trump and his representatives have already said on record there is no world were they dont Tariff us and the only path to no Tariffs would be join them.

@FoxyBrigitte @MTW2478 4th Gen? I dont even think Canada is old enough to have one of those. Let's see Canada became a country in 1867 so we are about 159 years old (2026-1867) so if a generation is say on average 60 years we are roughly in 3rd Gen. So yay no Canadian qualifies

@MTW2478 Naw all MPs who were born outside Canada should be removed no matter their party affiliation. Let’s go as far and say you must be a 4th Gen Canadian before serving in municipal, provincial or federal institution.

So Shawn, is it okay for Ziad Aboultaif, born in Lebanon to be a member of the Conservative Party? Leslyn Lewis born in Jamaica? Tom Kmiec born in Poland? Not to mention past members not born in Canada. Or does your racist rant only apply to Liberal Party members?
Shawn Kivimaa@SKivimaa

This raving lunatic is one of 5 PM Mark Carney cabinet ministers who weren’t even born in Canada. Foreigners who value their own countries over Canada are not our strength. The fact that this is even allowed is a glaring condemnation of our government.

@sunlorrie Canada could also sell gasoline at cost of production, which doesn't change dramatically, and sell it domestically at a very small profit margin. We would still export crude, so profits from that wouldn't change. We would need a state producer - call it "Petrocan" or something.

To meaningfully help out Canadians right now, federal and provincial governments could lower their taxes on gasoline.

@CntrLeafsNation There is plenty of blame to go around all over the place. For me the decline began after our first playoff run. They accelerated salaries and never finished the rebuild properly and since then the GMs have been chasing the missing parts at discounts or in trades.

I get it, the never-Dubas camp can't/won't admit their "hockey guys" brought this team down in 2 yrs, won't admit the same guy who they championed to be fired is doing amazing work in Pitts. To see the never-Dubas camp spinning + angry today is a bunch of I told you so.

What @CraigJButton said about the Leafs was the best assessment of any I saw yesterday. He placed this entire failure at the GM & Coach's feet. You can't ask 34 and 88 to carry a team that is old, too slow, not mobile, less talented and expect them to pull blood out of a rock.a

🚨 BREAKING: First Nations seeking court injunction to STOP Alberta independence signature collection. The courts could be intervening in our democratic petition process as early as April 7. We cannot assume we have until May 2. If granted, the courts could block us gathering more signatures. Let’s redouble everyone’s efforts to obtain signatures now and BEFORE April 7 to protect our democratic rights from court interference.

@MartinJodoin61 @RiseOfAlberta A referendum yes is constitutional, but Smiths government forced it through without the question itself being constitutionally sound. If the question itself isn't constitutional then no petition should have been started in the first place.

@RiseOfAlberta It would be illegal for any court to stop a constitutionally protected activity! We have the right to petition our government for any issue that the masses have a legitimate concern for!

@RiseOfAlberta @JonFromAlberta How does the Federal Courts have any jurisdiction at this point in a legal provincial process? Until the question is put to the people in the referendum, I don’t see where they even have the right to block or negotiate anything.

@albertaradios Building a pipeline in Alberta all you want but to cross into another jurisdiction you need permission. Like if you owned a shop and if you wanted to put an entrance through neighbours property for better access you need their permission.

Anyone else remember when the CDN gov had to pay to install gas pumps across Canada? Yeah me neither, because when the public shows there’s high demand for a service, there’s always a private company ready to make a profit off of delivering that service. This is pure ideology that has nothing to do with respecting the free market.

@AlbertanAFk Guess what ontario on gets 26.00/person. We get oh so much money. Who is shunning you developing your resources. If Quebec wants to leave their natural beauty alone that's their choice no different than a neighbour doesn't want to tear down a tree so you can put a driveway in

@agillarda The fed collects taxes and disperses the funds in equalization. Virtually zero goes to Alberta. Provinces addicted to the free cash refuse to develop their resources (and shun ours while they enjoy our money). This builds resentment. Hence, Alberta is leaving.

4.5 years ago, if you voted to remove equalization like 62% of Albertans did, then you need to sign the petition and vote YES again in October. This is the ONLY way we will fix equalization. And it can’t be ignored this time.

@JustinD8787 @agillarda Why does the gov need to own the companies? The companies pay royalties. We don’t need the gov owning so much in the economy. The free market works best.

@unacceptfringe That's been how its worked since 1996, my step-dad passed away and my mom, me and the other kids as long as we stayed in school received the survivor / death benefit. Harper had 10 years to change it and didn't.
