@malmoeb @cyb3rops Doesn’t Azure support anomaly detection for stuff like this? 200 VM’s suddenly running at a 100% should at the minimum result in a immediate alert, instead of waiting for the bill at the end of the month. Though MS likely doesn’t have an incentive since they just cash the bill?

1/ We recently had a case where a TA compromised an Azure Global Admin account. The TA used the compromised account to spun up over 200 VMs to mine cryptos with it. The compromise was only noticed due to skyrocketing Azure costs. 💸 🧵 #CyberSecurity
