@Legal_Fil @criticalcivil I think it’s actually perfectly reasonable to distrust that the government will take the added tax revenue from a data center and actually apply it toward tangible relief for those affected by the increases to utility costs.

@criticalcivil But that isn’t what is really being argued. Just “no data centers.” In the long run, the proper solution is to grow our electrical generation capacity, which we should do anyway. But, of course, those most opposed to data centers are often viciously opposed to that as well. 2/

It’s a full-blown mania. The only quasi-plausible argument that I’ve heard against them is that data centers might drive up the cost of electricity in an area. But that is true of any major development, and doesn’t consider the way taxes offset the increased cost.
The Washington Post@washingtonpost

A Gallup poll found that seven out of 10 Americans said they would oppose a data center being built near them. Opposition is so intense, the poll found, that more Americans would rather live near a nuclear power plant than a data center. wapo.st/48ZtSpE

@justforfun0044 @ZhaiXiang5 @EricLDaugh It’s perhaps a bit hard to square that criticism with the fact that we’re also under constant government surveillance and the current Administration has been having a field day with it.

@ZhaiXiang5 @EricLDaugh Your sooop missing the point. Freedom is about trust. Trusting your people will act right and do right. China/communism cannot trust its people, so they must control everything, watch everyone. Dissent is severely punished under communism.

🚨 The Chinese Communists have just TICKETED the Fox News crew, using their abundance of surveillance cameras placed around Beijing! BRET BAIER: "There are literally cameras everywhere...they see everything...our driver parked illegally for 2 MINUTES and got a ticket for $40!" "Because they saw it, on the camera." This is Communism! It's what the Democrats want.

@ZhaiXiang5 @EricLDaugh Presumably the parking tickets in DC are Marxist uprisings and red-light cameras in Texas are tough on crime common sense governance to this lot.

@EricLDaugh So the story is: the Fox driver parked illegally, the city enforced a traffic law, and somehow that’s communism? By that standard, red-light cameras in Texas and parking tickets in DC are also Marxist uprisings😅

@schmizzler @Ike_Saul Yeah, I think you’re too far in the weeds of terminology here. It’s generally good when states don’t get gerrymandered to such an extent and I don’t think it’s just for a little over half of voters to get to determine that a little under half of voters get no representation.

@Ike_Saul Hey man, I'm not an expert by any means on this subject (that's why I like following you). I just think saying "it's good for democracy" has different implications than say, "this is our constitutional republic acting properly." Perhaps I'm getting too deep into semantics though.

@Grinder2003 @keithedwards Doing imperfect pull-ups like that at 72 is genuinely impressive and RFK is in great shape. But OP is also clearly in great shape, and I also don’t think he’s a piece of equipment you use to reach things.

@GovPressOffice I’d maybe focus on how TrumpRX is a failed policy that underscores how Republicans have failed to provide an answer on healthcare in the *decade* since Trump first declared he had a plan when discussing this clip if I were interested in winning elections, not math jokes.

CBS, once known as the “Tiffany Network,” is now becoming known as the “Trump Propaganda Network.” On the Left is Joseph Goebbels, who was the Chief propagandist for the Nazi Party, and then Hitler promoted him to Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 until his suicide in 1945. One of Adolph Hitler’s closest and most devoted followers. He advocated for progressively harsher discrimination, including the extermination of Jews and other groups in the Holocaust. On the right is the modern version of Joseph Goebbels, her name is Bari Weiss, editor-in-chief of CBS News, aka “Trump Propaganda News Network. Last night, Weiss “bent the knee at MAGA and Trump, their Fuhrer, refusing to air the interview on Stephen Colbert’s show with Texas Democrat James Talarico after pressure coming from Trump, aka the Orange Cheeto Micro Penis Domestic Terrorist, Wanna Be Fuhrer to his MAGA Minions. Weiss, who founded the media company • you're gonna love this, be ready to vomit people• “The Free Press”, how is that for false advertising? Oh, and you will also love this. She hosts a podcast called “Honestly.” Talk about a HYPOCRITE! = Trump's personal Media Bukkae receiver. And the news also came out that Anderson Cooper is quitting 60 Minutes as CBS's new pro-Trump agenda takes hold. So now you have the face and name behind the new CBS News Adolph Hitler, and Joseph Goebbels would be so proud of her. And CBS for the way it has bent the knee and bent over for MAGA’s Fuhrer, Trump. CBS is no longer the Tiffany network, just the tarnished one now. Thank you to the following X Accounts whose content was helpful in inspiring me to submit this post. They are both must follows. 🚨🚨 #PrinciplesFirst alert: @DonJBacon (R-NE) announces his support for reforming the President’s pardon power after abuse by both parties. The reform would allow Congress to nullify a pardon with a two-thirds supermajority in both chambers. Thank you for leading, Congressman.

@Revvedupprofits @WolffintheWild @WalderSports Yeah, to an extent. But much like Durant, it doesn’t take away from her individual talent or accomplishments. It’s just accurate to say that her talent + the system = success.

@WolffintheWild @imlike_mike You’re actually right, the analogy fails because Javaris Crittenton is too high of praise for Emily Austin. So she’s not even Crittenton, she’s a fan in the stands with a flag purse.

@imlike_mike Once again, that doesn’t work because “seat filler” indicates an abundance of seats and nobody’s ever invited to be a seat filler 🤦🏻‍♂️😂. You guys are reaching and every time you try to reach gets further. I promise you there’s a lot of people who weren’t invited.

@WolffintheWild @WalderSports No, because the analogy is based on their accomplishments in their profession. Your interpretation would be like if Javaris Crittenton walked onto the court in an American flag for warm ups and people pretended that made him more impactful than KD.

@WalderSports In your analogy, Emily Austin is Kevin Durant because he stands out amongst and above his peers like she did. Billie Eilish wore the same pin as 98% of people in the room, and said the exact same thing after six people before she said it. Good effort 😂
