Things which are not #transphobic, despite TRAs shouting otherwise: - safeguarding children and vulnerable adults - homosexuality - heterosexuality - women’s rights - science - evidence-based healthcare - asking questions - women saying ‘no’ to men

OK, trans community – it’s truth time. One of the biggest differences between the way women are treated and the way that y’all are treated is that y’all are allowed to have safe spaces. You’re allowed to have subreddits that are trans-only, places and events that are just for you. We’re not. When I tried to start a subreddit for female humans, for example (including the ones who identify as men) so that we had a place to talk about female things, it lasted less than a week, and the admins performed a delicate little dance before banning us for “hate.” They temp-banned me and all my mods, then banned the whole community because we weren’t able to take down the anti-trans posts that were clearly against our rules - and that didn’t appear until after we were tempbanned. Hmm. Women get nothing: not subreddits, not dating apps, not even an app for women in general. No bathrooms, no changing rooms, no sports of our own; hell, we can’t even get away from y’all in prison! Any female-only event y’all get to hearing about is targeted by protesters, often violent ones, invariably carrying signs threatening harm or encouraging suicide — lovely behavior from people who constantly quote trans suicide statistics as if it’s the biggest crisis on the planet, btw. Any women’s shelter or rape crisis center that is female-only is also targeted: the sole remaining women’s rape crisis center in all of Canada has been repeatedly vandalized with threatening graffiti, and even had a dead rat nailed to its door. This, in a city with 6 other rape counseling centers available, all of them trans-friendly. It’s not about being denied access to services — it’s sick, twisted, furious hatred at even the idea of women having anything of our own. You have taken it all: our spaces, our sports, and our safety. You’ve taken our privacy, our dignity, our right to single-sex incarceration, and our right to single-sex intimate care. You’ve taken our identities, and the words we use to name ourselves. You want us to agree that being female means nothing, is nothing, deserves nothing - no recognition, no separate existence — not even a name. We are “uterus-havers,” “menstruators,” “bleeders,” and “people with cervixes.” “Women” belongs to you now, and you’re even coming for “female.” You’re taking everything we are, piece by piece — and what do we get in return, for the theft of the names you took from us? “C*s” — a prefix that sidelines us in our own demographic, and which privately, the trans community uses as a slur. What good little colonizers you’ve turned out to be.

Read why we’ve sent a letter before action to the Corporation of London for failing to uphold the Supreme Court ruling that the Kenwood Ladies’ Pond is for women only – not men who identify as women. ⤵️ sex-matters.org/posts/updates/…

This is all the information you need for you to be able to work out what the correct ‘solution’ is all by yourself. If you still don’t get it, I will tell you the solution at the end. 1. Sexed bodies, not ‘identities’, play sport, so sport is segregated by sex. 2. Every single man who ‘identifies as’ a woman is, by definition, male and thus does not belong in women’s sport, which is for females only. 3. I could have stopped at point 2 because that is all you really need to know in order to reach the obvious conclusion that no male person belongs in female sport. However, activists like you have this need to bang on about the requirement for ‘more science’ about athletic performance, even though that is irrelevant to the issue of trans identifying males in female sport. 4. The science has, in fact, been done - and lots of it, and it tells us that male sporting advantage is very significant and it lasts even when testosterone suppression is used to try to remove it. Check out the UK Sports Council’s guidance on this. 5. The reason for sex segregation is that males have a sporting advantage over females in nearly all sports at all levels (from elite down to grass roots) of somewhere between 10 and 20%, depending upon the sport in question. In some disciplines the difference is even greater. 6. This advantage starts before puberty, is massively impacted by the androgenisation of puberty and does not fade with age or testosterone suppression, and certainly not down to average female levels. This is why under 16 boys’ teams can beat top women’s international soccer teams comfortably. It is also why hundreds of 16 year-old boys beat the women’s 100m world record every year. 7. This performance advantage makes males (irrespective of “identity”) competing in female sport unfair to and dangerous for all female competitors. Moreover, males do not belong in female changing facilities where women, teenage girls and pre-pubescent girls are naked and vulnerable. 8. Just one male cheating this way impacts multiple female athletes. This is why all males should be banned from female sport. 9. Testing of wannabe female athletes is necessary because it is male athletes that ignore the boundaries women try to erect and cheat their way into women’s sport, both for validation and to garner success that their athletic prowess would not afford them if they were to compete in the male category where they belong. 10. Women athletes who claim to ‘identify as’ men do not tend, in general, to seek to compete with men. This is because they know it would be a fruitless exercise in competitive terms as they would lose. 11. Not only would they lose, but they would be the ones at risk of serious injury. Nor is there a risk of injury to the male competitors. 12. There is thus no need for males to be tested to make sure they are actually male - there is no real drive to participate by the women concerned and the male athletes don’t feel threatened. 13. Testing regimes are for sporting integrity. The solution is that in all sex-affected sports (which is the vast majority of them) There needs to be: 1. An exclusively female category for women, protected by robust PCR sex screening tests by means of a cheek swab conducted at the beginning of the athletes career. This would effectively create a sports sex passport. 2. An open category for everyone else. This is inclusive for everyone as no one is excluded. If trans athletes feel that this is unfair, then they can campaign for, and fund, their own categories. Glad to be of assistance.

Over on Bluesky, there’s much fuming about a meeting between @mforstater and two of her colleagues at @SexMattersOrg (redacted, but it’s me and @derrybanshee) with Baroness Kishwer Falkner and two EHRC commissioners. 1/8

A tip If a facility is a proper single sex service, it is by definition justified (legitimate + proportionate) to exclude *all of* the opposite sex You do *not* then have to show it's justified *again* in order to maintain the exclusion against a sub group of the opposite sex

I have an announcement to make: We have officially WON our campaign at the University of East Anglia. With confirmation from the university staff, Norwich’s UEA will no longer allow MALES to use female facilities. This is an incredible victory. This change happened after we entered the grounds and did a banner drop, which was met with a very aggressive AntiFascist presence. We want to thank @uniofeastanglia for finally prioritising female safety over inclusivity. We also wish to thank all of our supporters and campaigners. It has been an incredible journey and, after just under a year, we have won. Thank you all.

I've almost finished my piece about Monday's protest at the Men's Pond- but in the meantime if you're interested you could read this one, which I wrote after the original Man Friday protest back in 2018 (Again, this piece is from 2018) #LetWomenSwim lilymaynard.com/yes-but-today-…
