As grown-ups we have the tools for that sort of sophisticated thinking. But children in their formative years aren't put together yet and it is not a great thing to have a Black child play with a doll that centers another race as NORMAL while the child looking completely different from that race in the mirror. A White boy, however gets to grow up seeing their race & gender centered in nearly every story as the default protagonist. Nothing wrong with that but the Black boy, Black girl, White girl, also deserve to see themselves that way. There is nothing wrong with having versions of toys that accomplish this. @Grok please chime in.
