@alantebuev We started building the app Friday night and got it to roughly 60% by Sunday.
On Monday, I filmed two videos about the “problem” my app is built around
In 24 hours we had 40K views across Instagram and TikTok. So we soft launched then
Narrative violations abound:
- Demand for software engineers is rising
- Software devs are rising as a share of new jobs
- AI exposed industries are seeing above-trend wage growth
- Open PM jobs haven't been higher since 2022
More from a16z's David George on the "AI job apocalypse" myth: a16z.news/p/the-ai-job-a…
Hey Alan!
It's 100% based on a feeling. I usually give projects a month after building the product. Try to get 10+ meetings or conversations with potential customers. If it feels "hard" or like I am trying to convince people to use it, then I kill it.
When there is a true product-market-fit, you will feel it and selling becomes kind of easy because people immediately see the product as a solutions to a problem or a no-brainer way to create more revenue / reduce costs.
A tech founder and YC-affiliated advisor told me to "figure out how to keep your coreligionists from machine gunning people," called @mehdirhasan a slur, and told me to "get the fuck out of my mentions" for pushing back.
Meet Peter Kazanjy (@Kazanjy).
And this isn't a one-off. His account is full of posts like "Islam's encouragement of cousin marriage makes their populations retarded" and repeated claims that Muslims engage in terrorism at 60x the rate of the general population.
This is someone who teaches at YC, HBS, and Columbia. People who hold positions of influence in our industry should be held to a basic standard of decency.

Had to charge up the old iPad to test out @krea_ai's new app - and it did not disappoint!
I suspect we'll soon be getting streams where you can watch people sketch and render full stories.
@alantebuev@jasonlk@lennysan@Replit Jason Lemkin is referring to SaaStr, his SaaS community and conference business, which he's scaled to eight-figure revenue using 2 humans and 20+ AI agents for tasks like sales and support.
"This is the most exciting time in our lives to build software" with @lennysan
"I can't even code and I've built 12 apps on @Replit that have been used almost 1,000,000 times.
And we run an eight figure business with 2 humans and 20 AI Agents.
This wasn't even possible at the start of 2025.
These are magical times. But it's also even more work. It's hard.
Pick your path."
Our friend @isaacfrench_ attended Main Street Summit for the first time this year.
He's incredibly accomplished. He runs a hospitality and design business in Texas, and lives in a community where multiple families share hundreds of acres and approach their work like it's an act of worship. He travels the world studying the best experiences, hotels, and architecture, not just for inspiration, but because he believes excellence in craft connects us to something deeper.
Isaac was kind enough to speak during the Summit - about hospitality, creating beautiful spaces, and treating your work as art. But what stuck with people wasn't just what he said from the stage.
It was the conversations afterward. The walks between venues. The way he approached three days in Columbia with genuine curiosity and open-mindedness about the people he met and the businesses they're building.
After the event, Isaac wrote something that captures what we're trying to create every year:
"Social media is an invitation to real relationship. Not a substitute for it."
That's exactly it.
Main Street Summit exists because face-to-face connection still matters.
Because the best business relationships start with real conversations. Because founders, investors, and builders need spaces to gather—not just to network, but to actually connect around what they're building and why it matters.
Over 1,200 people joined us in Columbia this November. Every one of them reminded us why we do this.
Isaac, thanks for being part of it. We hope you'll join us again next year.

Most people have no idea how widespread AI is on every social app.
I’m now finding big accounts that are clearly AI every day - but the followers have no idea.
Take this AI cockatoo, who has 600K followers on IG after posting for a month. This video alone has 148M views 🤯
@Augustines_X I haven’t found anything outside of the RP hypertrophy app that allows me to do AMRAP sets, wave periodization, or even basic linear periodization with custom progressions.
So I’m building an app for that
99% of vibe coded apps are demos
so I’m building in public to show what’s possible… real, powerful software at scale
I’m building an app for strength training with the exact logic I use for my workouts
my goal is to transform an ugly spreadsheet into beautiful software anyone can use
this weekend I built out the program creation flow and exercise library
One of the beautiful aspects of @replit
We’re equipping millions of individuals and companies around the world to build software they need
Often they are very generous and gift us tasty treats
