@ollieantics No, but there’s really fewer well-developed female characters, because it’s still a blind spot for many authors. Ofc we can fix many of those characters through fandom headcanons, but that’s still not the same.

@mtmcommie That can be some part of those cases, but I also believe there can be people who would just love the possibility of still looking the way they do, with looks becoming… sort of decoupled from gender, you know? And I mean, who knows, maybe someday in the future we can get there.

I have this theory that a lot of these reactions are just that he must be kind of unlikable irl or was when he was younger and celebrities use these micro controversies as a chance to air petty grievances. The inverse is true of other people who have gaffs laughed off and ignored and I always think “they’re probably fun at parties”
