@ollieantics No, but there’s really fewer well-developed female characters, because it’s still a blind spot for many authors. Ofc we can fix many of those characters through fandom headcanons, but that’s still not the same.

@formybaela “FREQUENTS brothels”… he went literally once… 😓 And over a decade ago. There is a discussion to be had about whether sex work can be ethical even in those western, liberal countries where it’s all legal and above board. But he didn’t know about that all those years ago…

Hasan Piker is a pos. He is a misogynist who gets away with it because American leftists generally do not care about women or women’s issues. So a patently ignorant dumbfuck like Hasan who frequents brothels and chats shit about women is presented as some ultra-leftie 🥴
🪰@malesshutup

hes a rapist, he's antiblack and specifically very misogynistic against black women. he also said rich women deserve to be raped. just all round AWFUL

@quibvs @FilmaticFury To be fair to Paul, he did care about his son’s death, that’s what pushed him over the edge at the end of Dune. Later he reminisces him in Messiah, and it’s super sad ☹️

@mtmcommie That can be some part of those cases, but I also believe there can be people who would just love the possibility of still looking the way they do, with looks becoming… sort of decoupled from gender, you know? And I mean, who knows, maybe someday in the future we can get there.

ngl I’m seeing a lot of people who say they have zero desire to take HRT or get SRS and don’t want to change how they present at all but they’re still uncomfortable with being perceived as a woman and it’s like….yeah that’s cause society forced you into that role

@MinModulation Yes. We live in PATRIARCHY, EVER HEARD OF THAT? The thing where there is an unequal dynamic between genders? The whole “feminism” thing is about that, ever checked it out?

@m_stormwitch I’m starting to think there should be some form of punishment for misconstruing a point so badly and in such bad faith, that it essentially stops being a misinterpretation and becomes plainly lying. Give out temporary bans for that shit. We can’t go on like this anymore.

"i only ship m/m abusive & toxic relationship cause men can take it while women won't ever be equal to men" is just as damaging as saying that boys aren't allowed to cry cause they should be stronger than that. Congrats on perpetrating the patriarchy's stereotypes even in fiction

@m3l_ll0wly @aquariusbutch *just to clarify, I’m ofc making a huge generalization by implying only straight women create/consume mlm media, which is definitely not true. There are queer people of all sorts in those fandoms. But straight women still make up a huge percentage.

@m3l_ll0wly @aquariusbutch In some cases, maybe, but less so than you think. Because those women have also invented stuff like omegaverse, which purposefully ADDS the gender inequality and oppression aspect. Because… turns out women actually LOVE to explore those topics. They just still want it to be gay.

@27Ranza @dippindotz_exe @gorillazenn @aquariusbutch Wtf are you talking about. No, they’re not “extremely different”, but they don’t have the inherently patriarchal dynamic that exists in straight relationships (though ofc patriarchy can also influence them in less direct ways, but that’s another topic).

@malesshutup He also drowns teeny-tiny little kittens, pushes old ladies in front of running cars, and he also personally did 9/11. Both times, he was flying both planes.

@TwinkTheory But most people who actually know him only have good stuff to say about him. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone who’s ever worked with Timothée saying anything negative. It’s always: he’s fun, nice and respectful, etc, etc.

I have this theory that a lot of these reactions are just that he must be kind of unlikable irl or was when he was younger and celebrities use these micro controversies as a chance to air petty grievances. The inverse is true of other people who have gaffs laughed off and ignored and I always think “they’re probably fun at parties”
Pop Crave@PopCrave

Charlize Theron spoke about Timothée Chalamet’s recent remarks about ballet and opera, telling the @nytimes, “In 10 years, AI is going to be able to do Timothée’s job, but it will not be able to replace a person on a stage dancing live.”
