The Strategic cultural misunderstanding: . The West collectively thought that China once faced with the dilemma of defending of enforcing what is right versus what is good for China would have done the “right” thing. . China thought that the West would be bounded by what itself wrote as “rule of law” Two dates are conventionally signaling the great strategic cultural misunderstanding: 24/02/2022 : the West experienced an attack and the Chinese leadership decided to stand still and profit out of it in the form of low cost commodities and selling high cost technology. Flooding the West with cheaper products and grabbing market share. The west was sure that what is moral would prevail versus what is of interest for the Great China people; just waking up to the realization that morality is cultural and the Weatern morality does not exists outside the West. 24/09/2024: Israel murdered thousands of innocents to take out an Hezbollah leader. The West was silent. The West choose vindication and violence for self preservation; this is in line with our (I am culturally West. This is does not imply I morally agree with what we do, but I talk out of a shared background) century of history. The West vaporized hundreds of thousands of people to stop a war; the West torched East German cities to stop the Nazi; the West sent their greatest to die in trenches or on the beaches of Normandy for self preservation. We even thought cruel civil wars across century or democracy or pure self preservation. China was not expecting the west would not Obey to “International law”; with great surprise just found out that International Law were a western construct and when the West realized being the only one respecting them, did not need to change them, just went back to the standard behavior. There has been a massive misunderstanding of cultural roots between the two parts and what was just expected to be an economic confrontation , once the constraints to violence was taken, became real kinetic war. The differences are cultural rooted and culture takes generation to change. There is no hope. @ektrit

Serve a creare dipendenza.

For decades we listened anyone outside the West criticize the Western globalized world: rule of law, free trade, international treaty, democracy, but also military defense of supply chains and aggresion towards unfriendly regimes. What I mean specifically: - Latin American leaders blasting the West - Middle East regimes inciting hate and violence - china waging an economic warfare - within the west itself far last and far right voices For few years now we are experiencing what the world is without the Western globalized reach. What the world is when Western leaders decide to shut up and stop caring about others…. I rather prefear the previous model

Minority rule. The intolerant minority will always impose its preferences on a tolerant majority. If you have a party you can serve beer. If you invite a few women you must serve wine instead of beer. Pizza became the food for office gatherings because it can accommodate vegetarians. Almost all ethical movements in history succeed based on this principle. But it also can lead to excess.

Learned that if the Muslim population is 20%, you lose ~40% of your sales if your restaurant isn’t halal certified. It’s not because Muslims spend more. It’s because a mixed group of Muslims and non-Muslims will only choose Halal spots so the entire group can eat and drink.

This is the LAST time I am having this conversation! 👇 WHAT IS SOCIALISM, WHAT IS COMMUNISM, AND WHY WESTERN EUROPE IS NEITHER. According to the CLASSICAL, I repeat, CLASSICAL Marxist theory - not the rebranding from the new age Westoid liberal arts graduates, nor the Leninist, Trotskyist, Stalinist, Maoist or other interpretations - socialism is the transitional stage that precedes communism. socialism → the proletariat rules, private ownership of production is abolished, but there’s still a state, still classes. Communism → no classes, no state, no private property, no money. Utopia. While it may sound good in theory to some (losers), it’s abysmal in practice. Or at the very least - we are the wrong species for it. It would work well for an ant colony, not humans. We are diverse in our ambitions, desires, goals, etc. You wanna see the legacy of socialism? Spent more time in Eastern Europe, we'll educate you. NEITHER WESTERN EUROPE, NOR THE NORDICS ARE SOCIALIST! They are social democracies: capitalist, free market economies with welfare states, progressive taxation, public healthcare, stronger labor protections, etc. NOT socialist! I don't care about Westerners' personal interpretations of the term socialism - they've never lived a single day in such a system. You don't get to rewrite neither history nor economic theory. Either stick to the facts or don't engage in something you neither understand nor have experienced.

I can testify the opposite is also true. I spent two weeks in USA, I am vegetarian, kept my diet and felt sick for one most of the time and one full week after flying back to Italy.
Dave W@dmweisberger

I just spent 2 incredible weeks in Italy and it is so frustrating to come back to the U.S… How is it possible @RobertKennedyJr that the Italian food supply is so vastly superior. I literally ate bread at every meal, dessert multiple times per day, and generally ate way more than I do in the U.S. Not once did I have acid reflux. Not one headache, no digestive problems, and I didn’t gain any weight. If I ate the same way in the U.S. (I used to at times) I would have gone through a full bottle of Tums and Advil just to get through the day… WHY does the U.S. allow glyphosate in wheat, high fructose corn syrup in food and who knows what in our milk products? The difference in quality of life in Italy vs the U.S. is staggering from their common sense (anti corporate) food regulation. WHY aren’t more people upset about this? The U.S. is the richest country in the world and we eat like one of the poorest.

After scarcity, comes glut. Always. OPEC may, in practical terms, have died this week. More departures may follow. The UAE leaving OPEC could signal that we’re heading toward a phase where every possible barrel comes back online once the Iranian conflict eases. Consider a scenario where a peace deal is reached, Iranian oil returns to the market as sanctions are lifted, and OPEC members ramp up their spare capacity. Glut...
