So I guess we'll do a thread on the arch for the bench and use some material from the book.
First, we'll start some basic concepts. Like the the lockout position for the bench is directly over the shoulders and in balance because it has virtually no moment arm and uses the least amount of energy.

@imrichbroadus @dadxbod Your butt has always had to be on the bench. There is no rule against arching. Never has been.
English

@dadxbod @alexp_ssc Never competed, been to more than I can count off hand. I can recall the shift when they started enforcing butt on the bench with the rule changes a few years back
English

Cope. This is just good bench press technique. And if you're not doing this it's why you think 225 is heavy.
Jay @Jayzus_
Don't listen to the people sayin 225 is an easy bench. They be the same ones doin this bullshit

This is for you goobers out there 🫡

Yes, this is the proper way to bench press. Yes, 225 is easy with a modest amount of training. Yes, I can do multiple reps of 225 even if I don't use my legs. Stop being weak.
English

@DabblingInIrony How do you propose we measure strength other than weight on the bar?
English

@alexp_ssc Do you think powerlifters, whose goal is to lift the highest weight, aren't manipulating their bodies to bring that outcome about. But lifting the highest wait isn't the thing that builds the most strength...
English

@alexp_ssc So just do decline benching. There is no reason to arch other than to inflate your benching number so you can brag about it
English

@alexp_ssc @BuckeyeBackup Does his arch look similar to the one in the image?
English

@dean_roberti @alexp_ssc He is using the same form. Arched back + leg drive to drive shoulders into the bench.
English

@alexp_ssc So why not use the same form on incline?

alex@alexp_ssc
Measly 205x6 Must incline 275 immediately
English

@alexp_ssc Solid af man! I finished with 315x 2 and 405x1 on Saturday I compete this weekend
English

@Pure_Absolute Have fun benching less weight, having smaller pecs, and shredding your shoulders!
English

@alexp_ssc Doesn’t matter if the bench is declining or if you create the decline by arching your back like a whore. It’s the same lift. Hope your little retarded brain can understand this
English

@Charlie_Breeze 225 is a very obtainable bench. Can be obtained with 3-9 months of training with good technique. Also 🐻⬇️
English

@Pure_Absolute No, this is literally a decline bench. As you can see the bench has a slight decline. Hope this helps.

English

@BuckeyeBackup You’re literally arching in the videos you posted. Link me the text of the rule book that says arching is not allowed.
English

@alexp_ssc I’m a two division national champion and state record holder in bench press so I might have some idea what I’m talking about, dipshit.
