Both my parents worked there till it closed. Before the keys were handed over to the dept of justice my dad found a book with all the names of those who lay there. That’s when my dad’s journey began on their recognition and ensuring they are remembered

Also Castlerea Roscommon. My dad has erected a headstone on the hospital graveyard which is beside the now prison and he has also erected one in the church graveyard for all the former patients. Dad is a retired mental health nurse
