One for the $KAS community. I’ve noticed so many people turning on eachother lately. Why? Price. Nobody is happy with price, all long term believes are down and didn’t sell at a ‘good’ price. Yet the tech only got better. If $KAS is to succeed, and it deserves to, we as a community need to support eachother, the developers and the builders more than ever. Those that sold, are still watching, there is capital ready to flood back in with the right sentiment and a shift in the macro market. Stop taking your anger and depression out on others, keep supporting eachother or you’ll push people away from building and the liquidity waiting on the sidelines may also shift away, at least partially.

My argument doesn't "conflate" block intervals with confirmation times. It expresses one in terms of the other while maintaining that they are different quantities. Like, you know, every discussion about TCS ever. That's a weird comment. When considering ongoing operation, D/L is a constant. I discussed scaling (in terms of K) in a different part of my response. What you said about GHOSTDAG analysis amounts to "scaling requires complexity," which is completely trivial. I commented about the rate at which this complexity grows, and you completely ignored it. Maybe you have a degree in TCS, but you have the mentality of a marketer. You lack integrity, Alan. Check yourself.

You are right that confirmation time, volume, and node complexity are different axes. But your argument then conflates block interval with confirmation time. Kaspa can produce blocks with L < D. It cannot achieve network-wide confirmation in O(L) with a constant independent of D/L. GHOSTDAG chooses k as a function of Dλ = D/L, and its own analysis says that larger k, higher block rates, and larger blocks affect confirmation time. It proves that the security threshold need not degrade as block rate rises, not that latency and hardware costs disappear. You also misunderstand the hierarchical merge-mining argument. Nobody serious claims the scaling benefit comes from verifying fewer hashes. It comes from partitioning execution state so that a node can process one zone plus coordination data instead of the entire network’s transaction stream. Merge mining coordinates security across those zones. That is the difference I am highlighting with state sharding + merged mining. Kaspa scales a unified ledger within the hardware limits of every full node. Quai scales aggregate capacity by partitioning state and accepting slower cross-zone coordination. Completely different bottlenecks across the two and state sharding has enormous benefits for lowering node requirements long term.

Hi Alan. I apologize for mischaracterizing your credentials. Someone from Quai said you were from marketing, but I should have double-checked. On the other hand, your TCS major and research background only makes the stuff you said more out of line. I'll explain myself very laconically and move on from the diuscussion. The discussion constantly confuses three forms of scaling: confirmation times, volume, and node complexity. Confirmation times are constrained at the consensus level. Kaspa confirms in O(L), where L is the block time. So does Quai. But Quai requires L = Omega(D), where D is the network latency, while Kaspa can do L=o(D). That's the key difference. In fact, Quai requires a little more: L = Omega(D*log(C)), where C is the number of dependent shards (that's just the information-theoretic lower bound; the actual complexity depends very much on the implementations). It's very mild, but it does mean you can't go too overboard with the number of shards. Volume: Increasing block rates and sizes does not affect Kaspa confirmation times. It's basically perfected volume scaling. Node complexity: First of all, the scaling cost for DAGs is quadratic while most chains' is linear. That's it! And that complexity is only apparent in a light combinatorial algorithm with great constants. The context is nodes that run arbitrarily complex code and/or constantly verify ZK proofs, and you are picking nits about the complexity of a slightly fancy greedy toposort? Besides, DAGs are also an advantage. They arrange the information in a way that can be parallelized very efficiently. Kaspa has already demonstrated in practice the largest volume ever processed in the history of proof-of-work. With all the supposed limitations, it currently has volume to spare. The devs don't increase the volume because there's no need to, but there's plenty of leeway waiting, tested enough to be deployed to mainnet within weeks if needed. Finally, merged mining has no visible effect on node complexity. The dominant factor is the network data; it really doesn't matter if nodes have to verify fewer hashes. On a more general note: you never bothered to understand Kaspa. Please, until you do, leave it alone.

In the last few months I found that I very much grew out of the "digital silver" narrative for $kas. It is just far too narrow for such a capacious network. Kaspa is the ultimate L1. It can be digital silver, but it can also be a token deployment platform, a sequencing/settling layer, a DeFi platform, and so on. What's important about Kaspa is that it can do all these things together. There's room for everyone. Kaspa is the only viable route to retain the superior decentralization and security of proof-of-work while providing throughput and responsiveness comparable (and after DK, superior) to proof-of-stake. That's its value proposition, not (just) digital silver.

“KRON is fishy - they never published the source.” We keep seeing this. So we did the next best thing: we decompiled the deployed covenant straight off Kaspa L1 and read it. Here’s what the on-chain bytecode actually shows. No admin key. No pause, no seize, no upgrade hatch - the only signature check in the whole system is ordinary per-owner token auth. Nobody can freeze or drain it. No hidden mint. Supply is minted once at genesis and the mint path is permanently closed after - we checked it against the actual genesis transaction. 399M to the curve + 21M dev = 420M, matching the advertised max. The dev allocation is exactly 5%, and it’s sitting where it should be on-chain. The “permanently locked” graduation liquidity is genuinely unremovable, and the pool math (constant-product, LP shares, fee routing) holds up - rounding consistently favors the pool, not an extractor. In short: from the bytecode, this does not look like a scam. One honest caveat, stated plainly: a decompile is what the deployed script does - it is not KRON’s source. We can’t byte-verify that the on-chain script was built from any particular source file. So take this as “the deployed covenant behaves correctly,” not a stamp of approval. So here’s our open offer to the KRON team (@KronTechnology): hand us the source and we’ll run a full, proper audit against it and confirm the build - under NDA if you’d prefer to keep it private. That’s how you close the gap for good - not our word on a decompile, but a reproducible audit of the real thing. The door’s open whenever you are. Now the part that’s bigger than KRON. The same thing that let us audit an unpublished covenant - full execution logic living on L1, in the open - is exactly what lets a searcher model it and extract from it. Read access and extraction access are the same access. That’s the whole point about MEV on Kaspa. It isn’t hiding in a dark forest. It’s in plain sight, by design, because the chain is transparent by design. You cannot have fully-inspectable on-chain logic and ordering that’s somehow invisible to searchers. Those are the same property viewed from two sides. Which is why “just make it private/resistant at the app layer” doesn’t work. If the logic is on L1, the ordering opportunity is on L1. The only place you can actually address it is the consensus/DAG layer - the ordering rules themselves - not the contract on top. The dominance of marketing people who have never written a line of code or a mathematical proof in their lives, who just contort the semantics of everything to make appearances of "professional discourse", was a major catalyst for my decision to move on from crypto. Where I thought there are people who want to learn the theory, I realized most of them are just looking for the jargon that will aid them in their flame wars. I was this close to do what I used to relish in: break this comment into its core components and explain how terribly uninformed and misleading it is. But then I thought, why bother? It's not like anyone is going to actually learn anything. People who like Kaspa will believe my post, people who like Quai will believe Alan's, and people who are on the fence will say "c'mon guys, we should be building together not fighting each other" or some other kumbayaya crap that actually means "I have positions in both coins so I'd rather you'd move the fight to coins in which I do not have a position". Alan can have this. I truly don't care anymore. This tiny insiginificant "win" for him is the ongoing loss of the entire industry. I'm about educating people, and I reached the limits of educating people about cryptocurrency. There are just not enough people who are interested in being educated. I'm moving on to other forms of education. If you are an exception to the rule I laid above, stick around.

The confirmation time increase is also only for cross-shard transactions. "Merged mining is irrelevant." > This is the only verifiable way to shard state in a Proof of Work system in a way that keeps the system consistent "Kaspa can scale confirmation times independently of throughput." > Confirmation times aren't helpful if Kaspa security budget is decreasing. Confirmation times are only as beneficial as accumulated economic security to prevent 51% attacks. Conflating throughput with confirmation times is a red herring.
